[RDD] rdstreamdata
I've had been using rdstreamdata to update the metadata to my shoutcast cast server for a few years, and it worked well until a few months ago. When I updated Rivendell to 2.80, rdstreamdata stopped working correctly. What is happpening is the file /tmp/rdstreamdata.tmp that stores the current song title is getting the next song added to file, but it is not replacing the previous song. The more songs that are played, the longer the list in /tmp/rdstreamdata.tmp gets and it sends the whole list to the shoutcast server. If i manually delete /tmp/rdstreamdata.tmp, it starts over. I'm using the tryphon packages on Ubuntu 12.04. I have no idea what is causing this or how to fix it, but it started after I updated Rivendell. Hello Rick. I just installed Whezzy and Rivendell using the http://debian.tryphon.eu/repositories. I realize that Wheezy does not use upstart by default (unfortunately). Are you using Upstart? In my recent Ubuntu 12.04 installations I use upstart scripts for everything, (jackd, jack.plumbing, caed, rdcatchd ripcd, liquidsoap, etc..) Including 2 scripts that starts rdstreamdata, one for capturing udp packets from rdairplay and another for updanting the icecast/shoutcast server. It would be great if you're using upstart. If not, I'll try to make it work on the old style sysvinit. Regards. Hi, Not sure about streamdata but there is an Icecast 2 RLM module built in to Riv these days. You can just load the RLM up with a standard config file as part of the now and next and you're good to go. Have a look at the sample file inside Riv Source/conf/rlm_icecast2.conf Its pretty straight forward.
