Well, I don't think I need JACK for my mobile uses. It seems to be well-designed for phones and tablets. Didn't know there was a desktop version! According to this site, Caustic for Windows works under WINE: http://jeffhendricks.net/?p=291 I'll have to try that out. For price comparison, a friend is a devotee of FL Studio (from its honest days when they called it "Fruity Loops"). FL Studio Mobile is $19.99. The Reactable Mobile app is $8.91, but Caustic seems to be a lot more versatile. So $8 for Caustic doesn't bother me. So far, Ensemble Composer seems to be a decent basic composition tool. MuseScore for Android seems to only be able to display and play sheet music, not a composition tool. Apparently composing with it requires using the PC version. Thanks for the apps mentioned, it sounds like there's a better selection of good audio apps on Android than good calendar apps ... -- David W. Of course, I start JACK manually and don't use JACK dbus. I thought I had RG set to not start JACK on startup, but it does seem to be doing that now. Still, no such errors. -- David W. My DAW is set up to start jack with Qjackctl as soon as the desktop appears, and it continues running after Rosegarden closes. Just double ckecked in case there was some contention between Rosegarden and Qjackctl. I get the same thing whether Jack autostart is enabled in Rosegarden or not :( -- Will J Godfrey http://www.musically.me.uk Say you have a poem and I have a tune. [Rosegarden-user] Irritation rather than bug
Every time Rosegarden shuts down I get this little sequence. ## JackEngine::XRun: client = rosegarden was not finished, state = Triggered JackAudioDriver::ProcessGraphAsyncMaster: Process error 21:15:03.491 XRUN callback (6). JackEngine::XRun: client = rosegarden was not finished, state = Triggered JackAudioDriver::ProcessGraphAsyncMaster: Process error 21:15:03.500 JACK connection graph change. 21:15:03.500 ALSA connection graph change. 21:15:03.678 JACK connection change. 21:15:03.680 ALSA connection change. 21:15:05.481 XRUN callback (1 skipped). ## I get the feeling that Rosegarden is getting things out of sequence, and removing stuff before closing it's jack client (or maybe not waiting lone enough for the close sequence to complete). -- Will J Godfrey http://www.musically.me.uk Say you have a poem and I have a tune.
