Which version of rrdtool do you use? I guess you are using rrdtool 1.2.x?. In version 1.2.x you _have to_ esacpe _all_ colons. See the NEWS file and look in the section called "Incompatibilities": [... snipp ...] * Colons in COMMENT arguments to rrdtool graph must be escaped with a backslash [... snipp ...] HTH, Andreas. -- Dipl.-Ing. [rrd-users] Re: RRD: Error Since re-installed RRD on Windows 2003 in different path?
All, Don't bother I just had a look into it myself, solved it :-) Kind Regards, Jo _ From: Jo Becaus Sent: maandag 27 december 2004 07:20 To: 'rrd-users@list.ee.ethz.ch' Subject: RRD: Error Since re-installed RRD on Windows 2003 in different path? All, I have been testing several months now with RRD & MRTG. Now I am creating the webpages via CGI script reading the cfg files from the servers and generating online webpages including the graphs via RRD. Previously I was running this on Windows 2000 server. Since this weekend I have moved everything to a Windows 2003 server. All is functioning, except generating the graphs via CGI script. I have adapted all cfg files with correct paths towards lib from RRD, MIBS, all rrd databases are being updated fine. This is the error message I receive for each device: "RRDs::graph failed, can't parse DEF 'in=P:/STORAGE/INETPUB/WWWROOT/MRTG/PRODUCTION//AR001S001/ar001s001.cpu. rrd:ds0:AVERAGE' -2" I have changed the Production path from the CFG files towards "WorkDir: P:/STORAGE/INETPUB/WWWROOT/MRTG/PRODUCTION/" and "WorkDir: P:/STORAGE/INETPUB/WWWROOT/MRTG/PRODUCTION" but didn't make a difference. Also the RRDTOOL and MRTG are stored in same path "P:/STORAGE/..." Suggestions? If you expect help you should provide enough information so people know what you are talking about. Hugo. -- I hate duplicates. Just reply to the relevant mailinglist. Hi Phil! I think the problem is caused by the two colons ("::"). If this happens in a shell or Perl-script, there may be a unitialized variable. Hope that helps, Andreas. -- @-@ | email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] | |http://www.bigfoot.com/~andreas_maus/| @-@ -- Unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Helpmailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Archive http://www.ee.ethz.ch/~slist/rrd-users WebAdminhttp://www.ee.ethz.ch/~slist/lsg2.cgi
