Re: [rt-users] Assets RT 4.4.0

2017-01-27 Thread Dunbar, Brian

I created a company specific catalog and custom fields for the data I want.
The owner field is a default field that is required I do not see where I can
change that.
So if I have to use it I would like the name formats to match if possible.

Maybe use a custom field for Company? Or create Company-specific catalogs?

Hello List,

I was asked to start using RT for Assets. I created a new catalog.

I put in my computer for test with serial number and details

When I set the owner. I could not set the Company it would only let me pick a
domain account

So as an example my account is smithjohn and my email is
john.sm...@company.com<mailto:john.sm...@company.com>
When I add the record it picks by account name smithjohn When I want to search
by owner after I pick smithjohn and it reformats it to the email address and
does not find my asset.
I can search on other fields but I would like to search by owner.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Thank you Landon, Torsten and Alex. I checked the folder permissions under

apache and it is working again. Thank you glad I am not in production yet.

Hi Brian,

Check what user apache2 runs as (probably www-data but depends on what distro
you use). Then make sure that user can write to the
/opt/rt4/var/mason_data/obj directory (chown -R www-data:www-data
/opt/rt4/var/mason_data/obj).

To make sure apache2 runs as www-data (or to find out what it does run as)
check the output of "ps aux | grep apache2". There will be one process running
as root but the others will run as a different user; that is the one you want.

Is the command you are sending on the very first line of the message? Did you
really send an email with both of those commands with the word Or between them
or was that two examples? Is there anything in the log (ie.
/opt/rt4/var/log/rt.log) when the email correspondence is being dealt with? If
you restarted apache did you clear the mason cache as well?

[rt-users] Secondary Approvals

2016-10-26 Thread Dunbar, Brian
Hello List!

I am setting up a new queue for our Hiring Team. They need approvals setup.
First is HR approval with range for the position.
Then the requesting manager needs a director’s approval to move forward. We
have many directors and the directors need the range information before they
will approve.

I setup HR as Approvers in RT Approval using __Approvals using Template and
scrip from this link
https://docs.bestpractical.com/rt/4.4.0/customizing/approvals.html

This works for the initial approval by HR

Now is there a way to make secondary approval from the director as well I do
not want every director being notified of a pending approval only the relevant
director.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

[rt-users] Fetchmail

2016-07-05 Thread Dunbar, Brian
Hello RT_Users,

I have exim4 working to send mails from RT and I am trying to use fetchmail to
poll exchange and collect the messages.
Fetchmail returns Fetchmail MDA returned nonzero status 2 in the syslog. I
also get POP3 Protocol error 19
I look at the exchange account and I can see that fetchmail is reading the
messages.

I have also tried with imap and get error writing to mda broken pipe

Here is the fetchmail config

set daemon 30:
set invisible
set no bouncemail
set syslog

poll mail.server.ca protocol pop3
auth password
username "...@server.ca" password ""
mda "/opt/rt4/bin/rt-mailgate --queue xxx --action correspond --url
http://xxx/;
no keep
#sslfingerprint "xxx"

[rt-users] Exim4

2016-06-29 Thread Dunbar, Brian
Hello All,

I have setup RT 4.4 and I have External Auth working. Users can login with
domain names. The only hurdle left to completing my setup is exim4.

I can receive email from RT but not send to RT. I did create the queue info in
etc/aliases and restart apache
The exim4 mainlog shows Queued Mail for Delivery any emails I test with.

rt: "|usr/bin/rt-mailgate --queue Service.Test --action correspond --url
http://xx.xxx/rt;
rt-comment: "|/usr/bin/rt-mailgate --queue Service.Test --action comment --url
http://xx.xxx/rt;

Thank you for any help I am learning as I go.

[rt-users] apache setup in RT 4.4

2016-06-27 Thread Dunbar, Brian
I finished the setup of RT 4.4 now I am trying to enable the ldap
authentication through apache then LDAPImport

When I try to add the following in apache I get an error when restarting apache
on AuthBasicProvider ldap should I be putting in the link to my ldap there or
does the next line explain what ldap = ?

I used the sample data as I the only differences I made are "RT access" with a
service account AuthLDAPURL with actual path to my ldap

Require valid-user
AuthType Basic
AuthName "RT access"
AuthBasicProvider ldap
AuthLDAPURL \
"ldap://ldap.example.com/dc=example,dc=com;

= 2.4> # For Apache 2.4
Require local

  # For Apache 2.2
Order deny,allow
Deny from all
Allow from localhost
Satisfy any

[rt-users] RT_SiteConfig.pm error formatting question

2016-06-22 Thread Dunbar, Brian

I am setting up a server on Debian (Jessie). I am at the point of configuring
the RT_SiteConfig.pm file and following examples found online I am getting an
error when trying to validate my config

Here is the text

25 # You may also split settings into separate files under the
etc/RT_SiteConfig.d/
26 # directory. All files ending in ".pm" will be parsed, in alphabetical
order,
27 # after this file is loaded.
28
29 Set($rtname , 'xxx.ca');
30 Set($Organization,'.x.ca');
31
32 Set($Timezone, "US/Eastern");
33 Set($CorrespondAddress, 'service.t...@x.ca');

When I try
sudo perl -C /opt/rt4/etc/RT_SiteConfig.pm
Undefined subroutine ::Set called at /opt/rt4/etc/RT_SiteConfig.pm line 29.

If I # line 29 then the error goes to the next line.
I have searched the formatting and the error.

Any help appreciated.
