Bill,
Of course you do. Auburn doesn't have many 11-0 seasons after all.

Are you feeling alright? It's a mortal sin to agree with me :)

 Hugh,
Ain't no problem being optimistic. We should believe
it every year...sometimes it happens!

[RollTideFan] 6-5

2001-11-30 Thread crimsontidefan

As I sit here an wonder. The possibility of us
being 8-3 or maybe 9-2 was not far from our grasps. Had we not had some major
break downs in a few games i.e. South Carolina, Ole Miss, and maybe even throw
in the UCLA game of one that we could have won. I was very pleased with the turn
around of the defense. The truly started to gel. All I can say is, next year
should be a Dandy!

Re: [RollTideFan] 6-5

2001-11-30 Thread Hugh Wolfgang

I am probably going to get slaughtered for this, but

At the beginning of the season, I believed we could go 11-0.
11 games into the season, I still believe we could have gone 11-0.
If the team had played with the same intensity and desire in September that it played
with in November, Alabama would not be sitting around waiting for the Music City Bowl
officials to call - the Tide would be preparing for Florida.

Having said that, am I surprised that the team went 6-5? A little, yes.
Disappointed? Yes. Devastated? Nope. Boston College will be a tough test for this
team, though. A loss could be the beginning of a long off-season. A win, though,
would give Bama - no, would CONTINUE - a lot of momentum heading into a VERY tough
schedule in 2002.

Let's not get caught up in celebrating a win over USM for too long. We NEED to WIN
the Music City Bowl this time around.

RE: [RollTideFan] 6-5

2001-11-30 Thread Rick McMahan

I was expecting a record of 9-2 or 8-3. The Ole Piss loss and the UCLA loss
are the two big surprises for me.

A win in the bowl game would be big, but a loss would not make it a long off
season in my opinion. The only thing now that would make it a long off
season is either CDF leaving, or major sanctions from the NCAA. A bowl game
loss would soon be forgotten. These last three wins have left us all feeling
much better headed into off season.

RTR!
Rick
