Re: [rtl] rtl@rtlinux.org list policy
Der Herr Hofrat wrote: Hi ! [EMAIL PROTECTED] is a technical mailing list. If you have questions regarding RTLinux patent license issues, please send them to [EMAIL PROTECTED] The proper forum for all non-technical discussions about real-time Linux is the rtl-advocacy list, which was set up for that purpose. Some may believe that certain issues are so important that they should be discussed on the main list, but the hundreds of people who unsubscribed the last time a "discussion" of this nature took place on the main list would surely disagree. Those who continue to post non-technical discussions to the main list will be unsubscribed and non-technical messages will be deleted. I take your point and as owners of this list obviously you can impose any kind of censorship you want. However, I think you'll agree that this issue is spreading FUD which needs to be addressed. Personally, I like to limit the number of lists to which I subscribe. I used to admire the way free speech was allowed on this list but feel now you are in danger of becoming a bit too draconican for your own good. Trevor. For those who feel they are being unfairly marginalized, a reminder that the rtl-advocacy list exists will be posted to the main list periodically. In addition, a link to the mailing lists is on every page of www.rtlinux.org so, it should be no problem for interested users to find the thread. rtl-advocacy is archived at rtlinux.org at: http://www.rtlinux.org/mailing_lists.html Thank you for your understanding. hofrat -- [rtl] --- To unsubscribe: echo "unsubscribe rtl" | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] OR echo "unsubscribe rtl Your_email" | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] --- For more information on Real-Time Linux see: http://www.rtlinux.org/rtlinux/ -- Lineo Inc. - (formerly Zentropix) Tel: +44 (0)1273 234 647 Fax: +44 (0)1273 704 482 Visit http://www.zentropix.com/ for Real Time Linux Tools Visit http://www.realtimelinux.org/ for Real Time Linux Information -- [rtl] --- To unsubscribe: echo "unsubscribe rtl" | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] OR echo "unsubscribe rtl Your_email" | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] --- For more information on Real-Time Linux see: http://www.rtlinux.org/rtlinux/

Re: [rtl] installation troubles
Hello, Actually, I am very new about using RT-Linux. As I remember, I got the same problem when I used gcc coming with RedHat 7.0. The gcc in this egcs package is only an experimental version. I got several of comments, but those comments did not help much. Finally, I tried to change to RedHat 6.2 and there was no problem at all. I guess you are also using RedHat 7.0. Another choice to try is to remove the egcs package and reinstall with the one that works. However, you may face the problem of dependencies. By the way, thanks a lot for comments about FIFO and rtl_printf() from some folks here.
