(I have too many helpers.) I prefer to run SA as a service. If you do so, make sure to setup an ID and password and enter them on the checks that need authentication. The service runs with the system account and desktop interaction. If you desire to perform maintenance remotely using Terminal Services, then you must stop the SA service, and then launch the application. Make your changes, and don't forget to save before you exit. After exiting, restart the SA service. One draw back to this approach is you lose history. All items that are down will Alert and you will no longer have your running since information. If you want to run as a service and use the desktop interaction feature, then you need to use a product like PCAnywhere instead of terminal services. If it is a COMPAQ server you can use the RILO card interface. We've got the same issue that ServerAlive is getting a 99% utilization when checking on a W2K server, but i think it's normal because it's doing it's tasks as quick as possible. RE: [***SPAM***] [SA-list] Run-time error '13': Type mismatch
Got the same problem with 1599 1600. Lots of element not found errors, and when editing it crashed, losing all my changes (yes i had to save it .. My fault) Met vriendelijke groet, Mike Roelofs UC Systems B.V. E-mail : [EMAIL PROTECTED] -Oorspronkelijk bericht- Van: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Namens [EMAIL PROTECTED] Verzonden: vrijdag 23 april 2004 23:29 Aan: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Onderwerp: [***SPAM***] [SA-list] Run-time error '13': Type mismatch When I was running Servers Alive 4.1.1591, I had several checks set up to check perfmon logical disk counters for free megabytes, but I constantly battled element not found errors. So I turned these checks off. Recently, I read on this list that the newest beta version (1599 at the time) resolved this element not found issue by checking disk space in a different way. However, when I upgraded to Servers Alive 4.1.1599, all of my perfmon checks began to fail, and any attempts to edit a perfmon check results in a Run-time error '13': Type mismatch message, after which Servers Alive crashes. I upgraded to beta 1600 today yet still see the same behavior. Any advice? I'd rather not recreate all of the perfmon checks if I don't have to. RE: [SA-list] Command not running
Maybe you can make future option (on the wish list for v6 ?) with the schedule to receive missed alert due to schedule when schedule's first time is reached (a sort of queue) Same issue here : some notifications i don't wish to receive at night via SMS/Mobile email, but i like to know something happened first thing in the morning around 7.30. Now i've set these alerts like you mentioned: 2 times down and every 15 cycles (cycle time 2 minutes) so when schedule is not allowing messages (22.00-07.00) i'll receive one between 7.00 and 7.30, but i still miss up/down situations at night and get an alert every 30 mins during a day. RE: [SA-list] Scroll GUI problem (1591)
So it looks like an issue only in 1591. In the previous release i hadn't this problem. Here running on W2K Pro SP3 Mike Roelofs UC Systems B.V. I didn't really need the scroll during updates feature, so turned it off, but I thought for a while I was screwing it up. This is very annoying because the color of entry can't be seen anymore, and so from a distance look on the screen i can't see the status anymore. Clicking on an entry solves this, until the next cycle. Same thing happens. Tried on another machine too, same issue.
