Hi there.

I am in contact with Simon Goodwin and have news. This is an extract

make Masterdos free available:

You asked me to check the legal status of MasterDOS with Andy, so I did:

Hi Si,

...
MasterDOS binaries can be freely distributed.
Not sure where the MasterBasic source is - I gave you a disc of something,
but what was it?
...

Why not get the same with ROM 3.0? However, I am in hold of the SAM
COUPE ROM 3.0 SOURCE CODE, Copyright Andrew J.A. Wright 1989-90. But I
know

I can respect that.

But the file SAMBasicROMv3src.zip in

The first I already have and is also available on the samco news disks

Speaking of Simon, Andy and the SAM ROM...

I've uploaded an archive containing 13 versions of the SAM ROM to incoming
on NVG. Simon sent them to me a while back, with permission from Andy to
make them freely available. I left out the version 1.1 ROM as it doesn't
appear to be in the correct format, but will upload a good copy if I can
find one.

The ROMs aren't really of very much practical use, but still worth
preserving as part of SAM's history :-)

Would this allow a modified SAM font to be distributed? I'll be making a

others could use this too.

I'd guess you should be fine if the font is also freely available. The ROM1
source shows Simon N Goodwin as the charset author, and he's certainly aware
of the ROMs being distributed freely.
