This position is an Application/ Project DBA. This is different than a
support DBA position.

This candidate will be responsible for creating the Logical data model in
Erwin (Erwin experience is a nice to have, but not required) and also
responsible for building the Physical Database in Teradata.

This DBA should understand indexing, tuning and other support DBA functions.
Most of these candidates will have worked as a support DBA before they moved
into the Application DBA role.

The difference is an Application DBA designs and build the database rather
than just supports existing database. Experience in designing the Logical
data model is the key difference between a support DBA and an Application
DBA. The databases this DBA will work with are very large - 1 to 2
terrabytes with millions of rows, so experience with large database is
important.
This position is for a Senior level Teradata Database Administrator, who is
responsible for design, development and administration of large scale (500Gb
- 2TB in size) analytical & transactional data structures on various
databases like Teradata, SQLServer, DB2 and Oracle.  Included within those
responsibilities are the areas of data access and delivery technologies.

Map business requirements into system requirements

Problem: Hospital has approximately 30,000 patient records stored in
Allscripts Professional
EMR (on a SQL back end) that need to be extracted and transferred into the
new NextGen EMR. They are able to extract the discrete data with their
internal resources. They do not have the internal expertise to extract an
electronic version (.PDF) of the legal full chart report. At this point, the
only way they know how to do this is to print out every report and scan the
document into a PDF to deposit into the new NextGen EMR application. This is
not a time or cost effective solution due to the number of records that need
to be transferred.



Solution: They need a *consultant that can architect a solution to extract
the legal full chart reports from Allscripts Professional EMR as an
electronic file. They are thinking they need to develop an automated tool to
do this*.  Everything related to Allscripts is proprietarty.

Visual Studio 6 has been End-of-Life from Microsoft since April 8, 2008. A
number of applications are still based on Visual Studio 6 in the environment
today. This presents a risk to the environment as there is no support in
place for Visual Studio 6. Additionally this legacy version does not work
under Windows 7 (iDesktop) which creates a hard dependency on keeping the
soon to be legacy Windows XP environment longer in parrallel.

The role is to actively identify all dependencies on Visual Studio 6, plan
and execute its decommissioning with the impacted application teams.
The initial estimates size the project as a two year programme.
Identify all applications that require Visual Studio 6 for development
activities
Form a remediation plan for each application that is identified to have a
dependency on Visual Studio 6
Work with stakeholders to ensure the scope of work is correct for the
migration to a later edition of Visual Studio (preferably 2008 / 2010).
Action remediation plans put in place for in-scope applications
Remove Visual Studio 6

The candidate will also be responsible for identifying migration/upgrade
issues with Microsoft, establishing a generic migration plan for
applications, and set up forums and training (both internally and externally
led).
The role will require someone with technical knowledge of migrating

· This need is for someone who can read C# (dotNet) code, interact
with Microsoft SQL Server, and create documentation assets. This resource
needs to be able to capture business processes through meetings,
conversations, and observation.



· Any experience/background in the health savings account (flexible
spending accounts) industry would be extremely helpful but not required.
Being familiar with financial institutions is also a plus. Any Customer
Relationship Management (CRM) experience is also a plus.



· This role is part technical and part functional. This individual
will be writing and gathering both technical and functional requirements and
specifications. This will involve conducting interviews with the end users.



· The existing in-house, proprietary Customer Relationship
Management (CRM) application needs to be repaired/rebuilt or there is a
possibility that the existing CRM app will be replaced with a new one that
is purchased.



· Expected documentation would encompass the following: process
flows, swim lanes, functional documents, sequence diagrams, Entity
Relationship (ER) diagrams, etc.



· The candidate will effectively capture the documentation on an
existing system and business process. (Reverse engineer and create the
document asset).



· The resource will split time in both Kansas and Tennessee. This
resource will spend the majority of the time in Memphis, Tennessee. For the
first 2-3 months this resource will spend 50% of the time in Kansas and the
other 50% of time in Tennessee. For the remainder of the project the
resource will spend 70% of the time in Tennessee and the remaining 30% in
Kansas.
