*Project Description:*

In this role, they will be a critical member of the team building the
foundation for Best Buy's next generation web platform. They will support
and extend running applications & assist in the design and development of
new applications. They will be expected to evaluate and refactor in a rapid
manner for every part of our infrastructure. Overall knowledge of designing
an application to run on a scalable platform is expected. You will be
working in an agile environment which means test-driven development and
pair programming. We are evolving towards a dev/ops model, with our
development teams engaged in monitoring, optimizing and supporting our
production environments. We have many projects running in parallel
including Cloud technologies, Infrastructure automation, and SOA REST based
web applications.

*Responsibilities: *

   - Developing Java/Spring web applications
   - Aggressive refactoring
   - High comfort level with Unix/Linux command line
   - Object Oriented Programming and Service Oriented Architecture design

*Must Have Skills:*

   - At least five years of relevant application software development
   experience
   - Experience with large-scale distributed systems and client-server
   architectures
   - Developing Spring/Java/Maven applications
   - Aggressive refactoring
   - High comfort level with Unix/Linux command line
   - Strong unit-testing skills (JUnit in particular)
   - Object-oriented programming and experience with Design Patterns

*Nice to have skills:*

   - Experience as a Technical Lead on a large application development
   project
   - Experience in e-commerce frameworks like ATG
   - Pair Programming
   - Test Driven Development (TDD)
   - Experience working in a Continuous Integration environment
   - Experience with functional testing frameworks

Duration:  6 months



Job Description:

Java Developer/Architect opportunity. The selected candidate will be
working with our client located in Saint Paul, MN. This is a 6 month
contract opportunity.

The selected candidate will working with the Lawson company at their
facility to develop/modify the Lawson software package specifically for the
client and will represent the client on the project. Candidates should be
senior level with Architecture experience as well as development
experience. This position will require much more than coding.

Responsibilities:

• Design, code and test software using latest technologies in
Java/J2EE.

• Develops code derived from a design document using
appropriate development standards

• Performs unit testing of the code and performs integration
level testing with other features or products in the system.

• Provides complete, reliable, and prompt information to
management.

• Develops and maintains knowledge of Infor systems elements
and products, design and implementation tools used in the software
development environment as well as current technologies in software
development, computer systems and industry trends.

• Demonstrates ability to work in a large and complex software
environment.

Required Skills:

• Strong J2SE/J2EE programming and design experience

• Experience with n-tier architectures and standards based
implementations

• Experience with distributed computing, concurrent programming
or high volume request processing

• Working experience with Tomcat, Jetty, WebSphere, Weblogic

• Working knowledge of XML, SAX, DOM, JSON

• Web Development experience with JavaScript, HTML, XML, SAX,
DOM, CSS, JSON, I18N

• Understanding of operating systems and Operating system
security. Familiarity with Windows and Unix OS (AIX, HP, SUN) platforms

• Ability to lead design and discussions

• Ability to do rapid prototyping and iterative development

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Ping Federate product strongly preferred

• Experience with SAML, WSS, SPML standards strongly preferred

Single Sign-on, Cryptography, Access control, Identity Management

• Experience with developing or using PKI and certificate based
systems strongly preferred

• Experience with Microsoft AD, Microsoft ADFS, SharePoint
strongly preferred

• Experience with parsers, rules engines and rules based
systems strongly preferred

• Working knowledge of RMI, Serialization, Java Sockets

• Experience with Java on client side, e.g. Swing programming

• Familiarity with general LDAP concepts and JNDI

• Microsoft stack knowledge (ASP.Net, C#, WPF, Silverlight)

Required Education / Experience:

• A Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
