The Replacement Medicaid Management Information System (RMMIS) project is
one of the largest IT projects for the State of South Carolina. It is a
multi-year effort to replace the State’s aging MMIS, eligibility system,
and related applications with a modern, service oriented architecture based
system. The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS)
is planning a multi-vendor approach, which will demand exceptionally high
quality team members.

*Daily Duties/Responsibilities:*

The RMMIS ORACLE Application DBA is responsible for managing all database
related technical aspects for the engineering and software development
life-cycle (SDLC) for a replacement MMIS database. The project is a
multi-year effort that will be one of the largest IT projects in the State.
The State plans to conduct a multi-vendor design and development effort.

Duties and Responsibilities include:


   - Installs and configures ORACLE database software, creates data models,
   develops naming conventions and DB change control procedures;
   - Install and configure ORACLE databases with both a traditional and RAC
   configuration on a RedHat/ORACLE Linux server
   - Manage ORACLE database architecture, interconnections, and schemas for
   the storage and retrieval of MMIS information in a high transaction rate,
   mission critical 24x7 environments.
   - Support database operations and work closely with application and
   infrastructure group for MMIS Replacement initiatives.
   - Assist Enterprise Architect with overall planning needs for the
   database design and data modeling;
   - Provide formal and/or information training in DBMS administration and
   maintenance, database design, analysis, and management.
   - Contribute to service design and support for a service oriented
   architecture (SOA)-based system



*Required Skills (rank in order of Importance):  *



   - Oracle database 11g and 12c
   - Demonstrate knowledge and ability to perform all basic database
   management and administration skills
   - Demonstrate practical understanding of ORACLE database physical
   structure, overall architecture, and database performance analysis
   - Strong background in database planning, scaling, and capacity planning
   activities
   - Experience in database design and data modeling, index creation,
   database optimization, and performance tuning.
   - Strong understanding of software development life-cycles
   - Experience deploying and configuring ORACLE Data Guard, ORACLE
   Enterprise Manager, ORACLE Automatic Storage Management, ORACLE ACFS,
   ORACLE Golden Gate, and ORACLE Recovery Manager.
   - Upgrading/migrating from one version of Fusion Middleware products to
   another version as needed.

   - Experience in a healthcare insurance environment (Medicaid preferred).
   - Public sector procurement experience is a plus.
   - Experience with Data Warehouses and/or Data Marts
   - Oracle or SQL certification

We are looking to add a Sr. Oracle DBA to one of our largest Telecom
Clients in the St. Louis area. This person will be working on a team with
three others, who are responsible primarily for the day to day operations
of the Oracle 11g and 12c environment this includes verifying the overall
environment is configured accurately, resolving and documenting trouble
tickets in regard to user access requests or change requests, and verifying
back-up have run. They do very little project work aside from the 11g to
12c migration, and this candidate in particular will spend the majority of
his/her time working the tickets and working with the application teams for
new implementations. There is an on-call rotation every four weeks from
Thursday to Thursday on nights and weekends. NOTE: there is offshore
support as well during these on-call shifts.

They will be responsible for design, implementation, and maintenance of
production databases and data dictionaries in compliance with application

all production and nonproduction Oracle databases. This candidate needs to
have Oracle operation support and DBA experience. Their primary task will
be
maintaining the health of the applications and support the applications
team. On a day to day basis this candidate will be working 20% on projects
and 80% on operation support. Also, these candidates will need to maintain
and
support Oracle databases in a 24x7x365 production environment on Solaris or
Linux. They will be provided pagers and need to be prepared for anything.
Will be responsible for backups/recovery, database refersh using RMAN and
datapump (expdp/impdp). They will be migrating databases from solaris to
linux. The candidate needs to have extensive experience functioning in an
environment that is supporting multiple databases. It’s also very important
to note that this person will be working entirely within operational
support as an Oracle DBA.
