I'd like to amend my list to add Winter's Bone as tied with Scott Pilgrim for
third(or second depending on how you group it) favorite. Awesome film.

But I'm still in lesbians with Scott Pilgrim. I made the Clash At Demonhead my
ringtone and I've been jamming out to Sex Bob-omb. I can't wait for the
blu-ray.

For Amy Berciano, this was the moviegoing weekend of the summer.

More than a year before Scott Pilgrim vs. the World hit movie theaters,
the 20-year-old UCLA junior became a huge fan of the graphic novels that
inspired the film. At July's Comic-Con International in San Diego, she
waited more than an hour to meet the cast and filmmakers; I even kissed
[director] Edgar Wright on the cheek! she bragged.

After attending the debut midnight screening of the movie Thursday night
while dressed as one of the characters — Knives Chao, Scott Pilgrim's
obsessive ex-girlfriend — Berciano declared herself eminently satisfied.
They got the tone of the book just right, especially the way they
brought to life those fighting scenes, she said. I couldn't get enough.

Her enthusiasm was shared by nearly everyone who saw the film in its
opening weekend, particularly those younger than 35, who gave Scott
Pilgrim an average grade of A, according to market research firm
CinemaScore. Universal's internal exit polls were equally strong, and the
film attracted scores of positive reviews.

But as last weekend's box office numbers rolled in, all that hardly
   mattered at all.

The movie sold only $10.6 million worth of tickets, a disappointing
figure given that Universal Pictures spent about $85 million, before tax
credits, on production and tens of millions more on marketing.

   Comic book hits:
   (since 1978)
   The Dark Knight, $533,345,358
   Spider-Man $404,706,375
   Spider-Man 2 $373,585,825
   Spider-Man 3 $336,530,303
   Iron Man $318,412,101

   Sheena$5,778,353
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm $5,617,391

Finally got to see it and I loved it. It's a great mash up of a comic book,
videogame and romance genres. The pacing is a little rushed but they cover a
lot material. Unfortunately a couple of characters(Kim and Envy) get shorted
but that couldn't be helped. It can be a little daunting for the uninitiated
but if you let yourself get caught up in it's magic it's quite the ride.

Cera was a bit unlikeable at times but comic book Scott has same issues. The
supporting cast was dead solid perfect. Mary Elizabeth Winstead was a good
choice and gets some good acting in as Ramona. Ellen Wong was perfect as the
lovelorn Knives Chau. Kieran Caulkin nearly steals the movie as Wallace Wells.

I can see why it left some folks cold because it's a very niche film but a very
good one.
