SD FS: 89 CSX-VNT #7

2004-11-04 Thread Ron S.
I guess the time has come to send this car to someone else! The car has been
sitting under a cover for 4 years, and I can't bring myself to put another
motor in (I'll want to keep it). Car is non-wide tire, non-recaro car.. but
does have big tires on it. Tires have 200 miles on them, all the fiber rides
are there - only one center cap though. Car has 105,000 miles.. motor is
new - drawback - the oil pump went bad. BRAND new VNT turbo, rebuild head,
forward motion cam, injectors, underdrive, etc... I have spare block from
another CSX - I would recommend rebuilding the block. The car DOES have the
front airdam.. has two cracks. Paint is really good, except the front
airdam. Have new decals from positive impressions, new windshield, new
KYB's, also have a Stage II SMEC for it.
I'm not looking to get rich off the car, I need the garage space - and to
finance another project a little. Come get it, and all the stuff that goes
with it - including the cover... will not ship (will help load) for $3500 or
reasonable offer . The stand out bad things about the car - other than not
running is the window felts are sort of shot, the airdam, and the tinted
windows ... doesn't look good in the back window. It was originally a Texas
car... so there is NO (absolutely none) rust.

Hi All
Thanks for all the info. The starter on my 86 GLHS has TURBO written on it?
I've haven't pulled it yet but I can see it has TURBO written (sticker) on the
case. So it must be different then a N/A Omni. I'm thinking it only came on
Turbo GLH.

I had thought the turbo units had a little more insulation in the
solenoid and/or armature to deal with the extra heat?

RE: SD Alternator Options for 2.2 Turbo's 136 amps.

2004-11-04 Thread Bryan Lugert
Here you are.
Factory replacement alternator for our 2.2 and 2.5's is the following
numbers
Lester Number (any place should know what that means)
13280, 13304, 13308, 13313
That is 120 amp and a direct bolt in replacement.
This alternator has an 8mm hole

To get the 136 amp you have to get Lester Number 13742
The only change you will need to make is you have to get a shim to go inside
the mounting ear.
(That part is discontinued, but I might have a guy make a few)
This alternator has an 11mm hole

The 136 Amp alternator can be found in the following vehicles:
1997-1998 Dodge SUV, TRUCKS, VANS with 3.9, 5.2, 5.9, 8.0 engines.
1997-1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 5.2, 5.9

-Original Message-

136 amp? I will get all the correct information tomorrow.
It involves getting a 136 amp alt from another Dodge application and then
adding a spacer to the mounting ear. I believe the mounting ear an our cars
is 8mm and the one that I know works is 11mm. Anyway, I can get those
spacers really cheap.

SD FS 1993 IROC R/T

2004-11-04 Thread MrCoolCar
Please e-mail me at [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I have sold my '92 IROC Shelby, and as soon as the check clears, I will have
to list my '93 IROC R/T on eBay. I may list the '93 IROC R/T on eBay as early
as this weekend. I have finally found a 4x4 diesel pickup truck which I'm
sending a deposit for, so I will need to have some serious cash fast.

This post is to serve two functions:

#1) To give some early warning so that potential buyers can gather funds,
#2) Hopefully sell it before it hits eBay (saving me $80 in eBay fees.)

IMPORTANT: THE CAR WILL INCLUDE THE WHITE 16 NINJA WHEELS, NOT THE CHROME
RIMS IN THE PICTURES.

There were only 211 IROC R/Ts made in 1993. ONLY 17 WHITE ones were made.

Exterior is in great shape with the top surfaces needing refinished.
NO RUST.

Light grey interior is in excellent condition.

The car runs great but may either need a turbo or converter. The boost comes
on slow and feels funny... but the car doesn't smoke oil at all. The O2 wires
recently fried (but have since been repaired), so I don't know if the car ran
rich for a while and clogged the converter (it feels like the exhaust is
restricted,) or if it is just the turbo on its way out.

Brakes feel good, car runs cool (below 1/2 on temp guage), doesn't have any
leaks that I know of. I just took it on a 200 mile trip with absolutely no
problems.

No vacuum leaks, no overboost, top end is very quiet as is the bottom end,
tranny shifts great, clutch feels good, car has 2-1/2 exhaust and Accel Super
Stock wires.

Great car. I'm asking $4,200 NEGOTIABLE (very negotiable at this point), so
make me an offer. I *may* be interested in partial trades as well.

Again, I prefer private e-mails to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Thanks,
Jeff

My son replaced a fuse and now his headlight works.
Thanks to everyone who suggested checking the basics, since I
assumed there was a single fuse which must be working because the other
headlight was. Being able to share even simple information very quickly

Thanks !!

SD Any interest? custom interior panels for: (2 door L body)

2004-11-04 Thread PentastarTurbo
Im heading up a group purchase for a FULL TRIM piece replacement that has
provisions for two 2 1/16 gauges...
heres a few pictures of my home made one..
_http://www.hometown.aol.com/chargerturbo/images/image.jpg_
(http://www.hometown.aol.com/chargerturbo/images/image.jpg)
_http://www.hometown.aol.com/chargerturbo/images/closeupboost.jpg_
(http://www.hometown.aol.com/chargerturbo/images/closeupboost.jpg)

The group buy piece will have the appropriate factory like texture..

This piece will fit ALL of the 2 door L body cars and trucks ranging from
1979 - 1987

Charger, Charger 2.2, Shelby Charger/GLHS (turbo and non-turbo), Rampage,
Rampage 2.2, DC Rampage, Omni O24, Horizon TC3, Scamp, Scamp GT, Detomasso O24,
Tourismo, Tourismo 2.2, Cuda 2.2..
did I miss any?

as for cost, this isnt in stone yet because I havent sent the stock trim for
the estimate.. they said that full trim replacment pieces start at about
$39.. So my HIGH estimate $50 each...

They will come in a factory textured look but in black, factory colors
should be available with the proper interior samples..
I have charcoal grey (Shelby Charger/GLHS stock color)
and burgandy (from my Rampage)
I mite need some samples of the odd colors like blue, beige or brown sence I
havent seen those colors in too many cars to get samples from..

Other Interior colors are easy to match, so thats not an issue and you could
just go with blackSo this is what im coordinating and shootin for..

If your interested, just email me [EMAIL PROTECTED]
(mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]) with the subject title Group Buy
In the email please include:

your first AND last name
your telephone number
your email address
and how many you would like to purchase..

example:
==

subject: Group Buy

Jay Silentbob

[EMAIL PROTECTED] (mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED])
Id like (2)

==

Then all you have to do is send it to my email address
[EMAIL PROTECTED] (mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED])

This places you on a list im keeping track of..
When the project is a go, I'll email or call you so you can send the payment
to me so I can forward a mass payment to the company (Lotek) that will be
producing these..

This will require some time and patience..
They currently have other projects ahead of ours and this could take about
or up to 2 - 2 1/2 months approximatly..

I've been around the lists (team omni, sdml, rampage runners) for several
years and this is my opportunity to coordinate something and make it happen..
Im not makin cent one on this project, Im just here to get the ball rollin.

the post on turbododge.com for this venture is below my signature..
more pictures on there..
thanks
