Re: SD WTB: Front Kaminari airdam for 89 CSX

2005-02-20 Thread David Salamone
Im looking for a NEW or very good shape Kaminari front airdam for my
89CSX. Mine is riped down the middle all the way thru. (I broke it
towing my car on our wrecker5 years and my car is the first I have
ever had any problem with the front ground effectfigures)

They're readily fixable. 3M mades a special repair kit for the different
types of plastics used in the front noses of automobiles. I would remove it
myself and have a well skilled body shop make the repairs on it.

SD new poly bushings: oval rear axle bushing

2005-02-20 Thread David Robinson
Greetings all,
I never got a chance to order one and find out, however Energy Suspension,
and prehaps Prothane manufacture a rear axle bushing for the PT Cruiser. If
anybody's ever looked aside from the watts linkage vs. out panhard bar, the
rear PT axle is VERY similar to what's under the rear of all of our non-L
body FWD Mopars.

And the poly rear axle bushing ES makes for the PT just happens to be oval
in shape. So... anybody want to order one and find out if it'll fit the
early 90's FWD Mopars?

Lifted right off their site: Energy Suspension rear trailing arm bushing PT
Cruiser: 5.7113 (57)

I believe the bushing set is pretty cheap to purchase (I think ~$25), so if
anybody tries it let me/the list know.

SD poly steering rack bushings

2005-02-20 Thread David Robinson
btw: Moog makes replacement steering rack bushings for pretty much all of
our cars. I 'think' they're poly. Moog makes a few different bushings in
blue poly, and then some in what I think is black poly. Definitely doesn't
feel like regular rubber. Anyway the Moog repalcement steering rack bushings
for our cars are the black material.

There are a couple different types/mounting systems used though on our cars
so might be abit tricky ordering the correct one. I believe the 3 part
numbers Moog has for our applications are:

K7111
K7112
K7113
I believe I installed the K7113 as a direct replacement for the original
rack bushing in my 91 Lebaron GTC convert, so I think that bushing should
fit any 91+ R/T, GTC, IROC etc.

SD addition to poly rack bushings post

2005-02-20 Thread David Robinson
Sorry, Moog K7110 might also be a replacement bushing for some of our
applications as well, I think that one would fit soem earlier models.

Re: SD Easiest way to change starter in turboII gts.

2005-02-20 Thread Duane Watters
Pretty certain I need to get the starter out, whats the easiest run down on
this, it is still winter here!
All done from bottom, or can I get at it at all from the top?

It is definitely a bottom job, Make sure you replace the heat shield if it
is toast, or you'll be doing it again soon.

RE: SD Easiest way to change starter in turboII gts.

2005-02-20 Thread Mullikin, Stefan P
Go up top and pull the airbox, hoses, battery terminals, upper starter
nut and bolt. Disconnect the transaxle ground, and speed sensor wiring
(the starter wiring harness goes out with the starter, trust me its
easier)

Pull the passenger side axle/intermediate shaft. (pop the axle nut,
pull the lower balljoint bolt, pry down on the control arm, pull the hub
towards you and drop the axle out) Pull the turbo brace (at least the
lower bolt) Hold onto to the starter while pulling the lower starter
bolt.

Be careful pulling the starter as the wiring will get hung up. Once its
out you can more easily remove the wiring and ensure it goes back on
properly.

Hope this helps,
Stefan

SD Shelby Z, 1987 4-Sale

2005-02-20 Thread Ron ZImmer
Mike,
Your response is exactly why I no longer want to keep this car. I have
dumped thousands of dollars into a Dodge that will beat the crap out of rice
boxes in all types of racing and even the loyal SDML list members will talk
trash about these wonderful turbo cars. When supposed turbo Dodge
enthusiasts talk negative about our rides it is time to move on!! So I will.

Since this car is worth vary little, maybe some energenic SDML soul will buy
it to part it out or maybe I should!
It is a red 87 Daytona shelby Z with grey valour interior. Has undercarriage
rust but overall body and paint look good(doesn't have the typical paint
peeling problem of Chrysler cars). Has the infinity stereo/cassett player
with great sounding speakers and has the crab wheel with good rubber.
Optional parts, with less than 10,000 miles of use include: Bill's Speed
Shop engine over hauled and made the 2.2 engine bullitt proof with a 475
high lift cam and ported head/ported two piece manifold/ ported turbo all
matched to the intake and exhaust ports, new clutch with less than 1,000
miles on it, new Billstein struts, rear dampeners, new Energy Poly
suspension, new shifter and cables, new A/C compressor with 134 refrigerant
conversion, new garrett turbo, 2 1/2 inch exhaust. Make me feel lucky and
someone offer me $1,900.00 located in Fort Worth Texas!

I need some cash for my newest project.

Red with cloth interior. Complete drive train and suspension has been
rebuilt new. Car would fly if it had wings!!
Email with questions. I would like to get $3000 US or NBO.

2005-02-20 Thread PentastarTurbo
Its called an opinion..

for the people who mite not know the value of a car.. people chimed in
and threw out their honest assesment of what they've seen vehicles like or
close to the described condition of his Daytona including myself..

When I had my 88 M3.. Way more people with the same Opinions
I got out of em because I wanted cheap speed and performance.. parts were
expensive and I knew a bit about the turbo L body cars..

Enthusiast doesnt mean people are going to pay top doller for anything..
I for one will just about always use the kelly blue book to give me a price
range.. then with the condition of the vehicle compaired to the listings
in the kbb..go from there..

Mike's assessment wasnt true or untrue.. just his opinion..
Sounds like this was just a way for you to hijack Rons post, belittle Mikes
assessment and make you out that your s**t dont stink to help sell your car..
