SD 1987 CSX seats for sale
My roommate recently picked up a project 1988 CSX-T off eBay and decided he's going to restore that allocation instead of pursuing an 1987 CSX. He picked up a used but extremely clean (unripped unsplit) a while back for a future restoration and decided since he bought the CSX-T that he doesn't need it. It's the only P body spare parts he has and he decided he wants to sell it. He's got the two front seats and the divided rear seat as well and all are in excellent condition free from stains and splits. His price for all is 300.00 obo. Over the next week he'll be unwrapping it out of the plastic from staorage so I can later shoot some photos and weigh some pieces to be able to come up with an idea on shipping sizes costs. It can be picked up in person (I'm in Jacksonville, Florida in the northern part of the state) or it can be shipped or potentially delivered to SDAC-15 or Carlisle (if you're willing to pre-pay). SD Re-locating air filter in front of radiator support
My #290 CSX convertible is like that. I have an Isuzu Diesel truck coolin in the nose. I put an Accel Kool Blue on the 2.5: pipe. Now, some folks at ADAC in Chitown saw this setup and said I would do better if I had a bigger filter in the engine compartment. Maybe hotter air but more of it? This would be a good topic to get to the bottom of. SD Signing off :-(
Thanks everybody for chat, advice and assistance over the last couple of years. I sold my 89 Lebaron GTS TurboII 5Spd on Saturday - to a good home, a TD enthusiast - it was replaced in my household (as we are expecting child #2 by a 98 Volvo V70 T5 wagon. I still maintain that TurboDodges ARE probably THE best kept performance car secret around. I can't think of anything which could give so much power, for such inexpensive mods (grainger/cutout raiser), AND still get great fuel economy. My GTS was running 15psi, still rich on the indicator, paper air filter, and a 1 7/8 bottle neck in the exhaust - It was VERY quick, and I realize it still had an easy 15-20% to go from where it was, I wish I had dyno numbers on it. Best of luck to all you guys, Thanks Pete Roy Toronto ---REMOVE-FOOTER-WHEN-REPLYING Questions? Visit http://www.sdml.org/ To be removed, visit http://www.sdml.org/pages/leave.html
SD Daytona C/S
Does anyone have a website for info on the Daytona C/S? I'm just curious about what years they were built, and how much they are going for, what engine they have? That kind of stuff. . . I'm thinking about buying one and want to know what to look for. Thanks in advance, BrianAugusta, GA ---REMOVE-FOOTER-WHEN-REPLYING Questions? SD Daytona C/S
I came across an 88 Daytona C/S and I checked the vin and it said it was Turbo I car. Under the hood low and behold was a turbo II engine. It had a A-523 Transmisson in it which I thought was a little strange. I figured it would have a A555. But it had a full manual interior. I can't remember what the name of the website was but I found one with a page of info on them. I'm sure if you look around you will find it. Jeff ---REMOVE-FOOTER-WHEN-REPLYING Questions? RE: SD Daytona C/S
Are you sure it was a T2 and not just a late T1? The late T1's used the same intakes a T2, just weren't painted) Of course the 523 isn't right either, but then those might have been swapped in. Painted intake, intercooled, car only had 55k on it. But the turbo had a broken shaft. I still have the engine and tranny in my garage. I'm fairly sure it was a TII. Re: SD WHAT I NEED TO MAKE TURBO II CAR
Chris, You'll need a turbo motor, turbo automatic transmission (Yours might last a little while but not long), a complete underhood wiring harness from a '90/'91 Turbo Shadow or Sundance (Unless you good at making your own harness) '90/'91 turbo computer, turbo car fuel pump for the car, exhaust system for a turbo car and don't forget if they have emissions testing where you located that the VIN will show the car as being a TBI car and this could cause a problem is a visual inspection is required. Also, turn off the caps lock please. Re: SD WHAT I NEED TO MAKE TURBO II CAR
Well, there's a fast and dirty wrong way to do it. And then there's the right way. Fast and wrong is cheap, so as long as you don't mind blowing things up, it can be fun too. Take your non turbo engine and drill the back of the block for an oil return. Install the turbo manifolds and a turbo onto it. Mate a turbo downpipe to your existing exhaust system. Swap the engine harness with a turbo one. Viola, instant turbo engine. Problem is the TBI has way too much static compression for the stock electronics to deal with. Best to run race fuel at all time with that setup. And the N/A automatic tranny only has 3 clutches, not 4 like the turbo's, few other reinforcement differences. It'll go bye bye soon. Right way: Pull the good engine and tranny: Sell them. Invest that money towards a good turbo engine/tranny. This would be a good time to convert to 5 speed if you have any desire to do that. Otherwise turbo automatics are pretty easy to find. Find a complete turbo engine (junkyards are good sources) and drop that in. Change the engine harness as I mentioned before, and you'll be rockin. SD oops, Which is the recommended head gasket?
Hi My cousin is changing the headgasket in his intercooled with a TII bottom end , otherwise stock 88 Pacifica. He is not really in the turbo scene, but he likes the car which my brother traded him for some work. He has gone through a motor or two, but I think it's usually just the head gasket. Anyways, I was at his place and asked him what he was doing and he said he was just putting a new head gasket in and putting in new headbolts, as the last couple times, he's used the original headbolts. Well, I saw a Fel-Pro head gasket setting there and I told him not to put that in until I checked to see which head gasket is recommended that can be easily obtained and without much wait, as he was actually planning to put it together tonight, but I told him I thought everyone on this list always said that Fel-Pro head gaskets were no good. If anyone can fill me in on which head gasket is recommended, I'd appreciate it. He has a TII bottom end but I believe he doesn't have a cross drilled head. Thanks Tom __ Do You Yahoo!? Re: SD oops, Which is the recommended head gasket?
If memory serves me correctly, since you do not have a Commonblock, or Cross-drilled head, you should be using a Mopar Performance gasket number P4452005. Hope this helps Matt T.M. wrote: Hi My cousin is changing the headgasket in his intercooled with a TII bottom end , otherwise stock 88 Pacifica. SD what jets are best for mild performance?
I'm getting ready to rebuild the carburetor on my '83 Turismo and need to know the best jets to use for mild performance. Right now I'm just looking at getting in the mid-eighteens with the car. The 2.2 FWD performance manual suggests the stock Shelby jets which are 151 primary and 429 secondary, but what do these numbers mean? When I go to buy jets, they want a size, like 40, 50, 60, etc. I've got the stock 6520 Holley. - Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Before it did so I wanted to get some opinions of people who have used them. If they don't make a big difference then I will sell it, but if it's the greatest thing since sliced bread I don't want to sell it and then find out later. Any feedback would be appreciated. My car is an 89 CS T2. This is a topic that comes up every now and then. The ignition in your car is not a weak link (assuming it's in good repair) and the general consensus is to spend the money elsewhere since the upgrade doesn't appear to do anything.
