SD infinity CD and cassette players
the chrysler premium sound cassette player for 1987 with joystick is a mitsubishi unit, the chrysler infinity ll cassette player with surround sound and push button EQ. with light up LEDs is a mitsubishi unit, the chrysler slave CD player that is stand alone and mounts below the infinity l and ll in the daytona and lebaron where the storage cubby/cupholder spot is and has a patch cord to plug into both of these stereos is a mitsubishi unit. i would know i have 2 of these CD players, and several of these particular radios. all the stickers say mitsubishi electric co on them. they also say chrysler infinity on the front. this is only because infinity worked with chrysler on the SPEAKER system that went into high end versions of these cars when they were new. kinda like Delco Bose on certain GM cars of this same era, or Ford JBL audio for that matter. infinity on the stereo has nothing to do with the stereo itself rather it had to do with the advertising of the speaker system in one of these cars hope this helps mat ---REMOVE-FOOTER-WHEN-REPLYING Questions? SD infinity CD and cassette players
FYI some of the later infinity cassette players called the infinity gold with 5 band slide EQ. are actually made by Alpine. tho i have seen several of these units look identical and some were made by alpine, and some were made somewhere else since the insides of the players were not the same nor would interchange. mat ---REMOVE-FOOTER-WHEN-REPLYING Questions? SD SD: Infinity CD and Cassette Players
Just a bit more info that might be helpful. I put a late 90s Chrysler Infinity Radio, CD, Cassette player into my '89 Daytona. Fits and plugs right in. Had problems with the CD player. When I took it to a local repair shop that specialized in factory units I was told that the CD part was made by Alpine and they couldn't fix it cause Alpine would not give them the schematics. Took it back to the dealer who said they would have to send it out for repairs. Don't remember where. Luckily I had a friend in the dealership who against his better judgement swapped it for a new one. ---REMOVE-FOOTER-WHEN-REPLYING Questions? RE: SD question concerning 555 L body swap
Well, I can supply the parts to do it yourself. Or I can do it for ya, to do that I'd need your parts to modify, $50. The 520/555 motor mount/shiftlinkage brackets are another $50 and require metal rod ends on the linkage. At this point my life is in enough turmoil to say that any new orders will take a while to complete. When I did the 523 swap in my Rampage I got a couple of drivers side shafts from 90 Omni donor car. I used a Daytona intermediate shaft setup to get the equal length configuration. As far as the cool Heim joint linkage for your swap, Stefan is the guy. I'm forwarding him a copy of this in case he didn't get it from the SD list. SD A-555 Axle Assembly
Does anybody know if the right side axle assembly for an 89' Daytona Shelby is available complete (with intermediate shaft and support bearing)?? If not, what is the best way to remove the int. shaft from the axle so as to not damage the support bearing? Thanks, Troy Amsler ---REMOVE-FOOTER-WHEN-REPLYING Questions? SD Starter Question
well gang I got some quality time with my 86 turbo Z this evening, and a little bit better look at my transmission knock sounds. Of course I haven't checked the flywheel bolts yet, I ran out of daylight, but the top shield between the engine and trans looks a little beat up, but it's beat out away from the flywheel. Another thought I had while crawling around taking the trans bolts out, was is there a difference in flywheel teeth? I guess what I'm getting at is maybe it's the wrong starter for this car? I don't even know if that's possible but it's worth a long shot. Hopefully Saturday I'll get enough time to check the flywheel bolts now that the temp is staying down a little.
