SD Shelby title issue

2005-08-11 Thread Steve Shock
Rick,

That is definitely a mistake that has somehow managed to remain
un-noticed. There was no such thing as Shelby American in the 80's. The
company was called Shelby Automobiles. All of the '87 GLHS's should be
titled as Shelbys but none of the '86's should be. There are going to be
many exceptions to this of course, we all know of the wonderful
efficiency and accuracy of Motor Vehicle operations.

The people at our MVA said the same thing about how long they had been
working there etc. I made them pull the MSO and they corrected it and
just tossed it on the counter and walked off without any apology. Maybe
some states do not hold on to MSO's forever, or maybe they just don't
feel like looking. In 1984 our MVA still had the MSO and original
registration for my '69 Barracuda.

Do you think that would still apply if the vehicle was not originally sold
in that state? I believe my 1987 CSX #172 was originally sold in another
state which would lead me to believe that the MSO would be on file in that
particular state.

Anybody have the records to show the original state/dealer that #172 was
sold in?

I had my local DMV here in my home state of Florida run what they called a
body file for my vehicle to get a printout of all the previous paperwork
history that's on file. What I received was a copy of a West Virginia title
followed by the transfer paperwork to a Jacksonville, FL dealership who sold
it to the guy I bought it from.

No MCO or a correct mention along the way of Shelby being listed as a
make.

Re: SD '86 GLHS Title issue

2005-08-11 Thread David Salamone
Our MVA changed my '87 GLHS from Shelby to Dodge (after I had owned
it for 10 years !) and they kept telling me ( for 30 minutes) that was
right until
I had them pull the MSO. They changed it back to Shelby.

Here's an strange story to show how screwed up the system can be. A good
friend of mine from here in Jacksonville bought his 1987 GLHS Charger #0664
when it was new and the state of Florida in it's wisdom saw the word
Shelby when setting up the paperwork and ended up listed the make as
Ford on his title. He used to drive the SAAC Cobra Mustangs guys crazy
when he'd enter it in their events.

SD FOR SALE: Shelby Dakota 899 near Atlanta - $1500 FIRM

2005-08-11 Thread John Doe

Hello all -

First of all, allow me to introduce myself. I'm Jack, and I live near
Atlanta. The Shelby is my 4th Dakota, which included a 94, a 98 R/T, a 99
R/T, and this one. It was my daily driver for two years, but it's been
parked for over a year, so it's time to pass it along to someone else who
can do it right.
I do not have the time to even read the digest on a regular basis, so if
you're interested, please contact me at any of the following:

I'm attaching a link to a copy of the ad on craigslist.ord that I have also
posted to the DML, of which I was a member some years back, and i have a
couple of friends in the R/T circle that are already interested, but I need
ot sell the truck fairly quickly, which of course makes this an excellent
deal.I know the ad is long, but it is as descriptive as is possible, even
more so than pics, but I will also take any pics requested, and already have
a bunch I can send (totalling about 3MB).

Thanks for looking, and I hope someone picks up this truck who's an
enthusiast.

If the truck sells by Saturday, I'll throw in a complete decal set,
including windshield banners! After that, it may require more cash.
