Question #29 on Sikuli changed:
https://answers.launchpad.net/sikuli/+question/29

Status: Open => Answered

RaiMan proposed the following answer:
I have to confirm this problem, but only on Windows (tested with version
1.1.0 which contains Jython 2.7b2 and with Java 7 and 8).

- the usage of the codecs module leads to the mentioned weird behavior.
Seems to be some Jython problem when using the same interpreter instance again
(as is the case in Sikuli IDE when rerunning a script in the same IDE session).

--- running the below test script on Windows:
- the popups show the expected output
- on commandline, in the unicode situation ? are printed for each unicode
character using the Java println
- the simple Python print refuses to work with unicode characters with a
decoding error

this is the test script I used:

import codecs
import java.lang.System as JS
#sys.stdin  = codecs.getreader('utf-8')(sys.stdin)
#sys.stdout = codecs.getwriter('utf-8')(sys.stdout)
text = "字"
textu = unicd(text) # a wrapper for unicode(text, "utf-8")
# instead one can use: text = u"字"
JS.out.println("plainJ: " + text)
JS.out.println("unicodeJ: " + textu)
popup("plain: " + text)
popup("unicode: " + textu)
print "plain:", text
print "unicode:"
print unicode(text,"utf-8")

--- getting this output on Mac
plainJ: 字
unicodeJ: 字
plain: 字
unicode:
字

with the popups showing the expected output.

--- conclusion:
seems to be a Jython problem on Windows.
I do not have any idea currently how to solve this.
I take it as a bug.

[Sikuli-driver] [Bug 1379844] [NEW] Functions cannot be cast as a handler in Eclipse integration

2014-10-10 Thread Ryan
Public bug reported:

I'm running some user acceptance tests before beginning a section of a
project, so the code is very generic. I'm attempting to create a
background listener before launching my automation code to look for
unexpected errors within UI regression suites.

I'm getting the following error:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "C:\test\TPS_70\Script\GUI\MatchingExample.sikuli\MatchingExample.py",
line 18, in
r.onAppear(sikuli.Pattern("folder.png").similar(0.69), errorOut)
at org.sikuli.script.Region.onAppear(Region.java:2023)

at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method)

at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source)

at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown
Source)

at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Unknown Source)

java.lang.ClassCastException: java.lang.ClassCastException:
org.python.core.PyFunction cannot be cast to
org.sikuli.script.SikuliEventObserver

This is coming from the following code:

import sikuli.Sikuli as sikuli
sikuli.Settings.OcrTextRead = True
sikuli.Settings.OcrTextSearch = True
import datetime
import time

def errorOut(event):
assert False, "WOO!"

r = sikuli.Region.create(1 , 35,500,500)

r.onAppear(sikuli.Pattern("thing.png").similar(0.69), errorOut)
print "before" + str(datetime.datetime.now().time().isoformat())
r.observe(25, background=True)
print "onward" + str(datetime.datetime.now().time().isoformat())

for x in xrange(15):
time.sleep(1)
print "This"

I've been waiting about 5-10 seconds and then opening the Google Chrome
homepage which is what "thing.png" is of, and I want it to throw the exception
when it shows up in the middle of the print statements. It is working as
expected in the Sikuli IDE, but we are using Eclipse for our projects as they
are very large.

I'm using Sikulix 1.0.1 but to use the IDE I have needed to replace the
files with an r930 build (Work around I found online for a bug causing
the IDE not to launch), this causes an error that org.sikuli.basics
cannot be found if I attempt to run the script in Eclipse with this
version being run.  It's a 32-bit system.

[Sikuli-driver] [Question #255595]: scrolling and choosing multiples

2014-10-10 Thread ron smith
New question #255595 on Sikuli:
https://answers.launchpad.net/sikuli/+question/255595

I am an old old timer using FORTRAN back in the 60s but having trouble relating
to a language with no goto or gosub.

anyway

I am looking to click on graphic icons (captured with sikuli). All the same
icon but in different vertical places on the screen and not all on the current
screen. Some icons are way down the page (scrolling). Iv'e read what I can find
in searching "scrolling" but having trouble understanding it. Is there a simple
lik or FAQ you can point me to?

Thanks to you

Ron

BTW sometimes five icons on one screen and then more to scroll and find.
Sometimes no icon at all on the current page.

Re: [Sikuli-driver] [Question #255553]: How to Open Browser using Sikili script

Question #23 on Sikuli changed:
https://answers.launchpad.net/sikuli/+question/23

Status: Open => Answered

Eugene S proposed the following answer:
1. You can launch an application using different approaches, for example:
  1.1 Use the App class as explained before
  1.2 Use Windows Run:
type("r", KEY_WIN)
type()
type(Key.ENTER)

2. To connect to the database and to execute the queries, you will have
to click on relevant button in SQL Developer and use "type" to input
text.

3. Copying text directly could be a problem since text recognition is still not
100% reliable. So what you can do is:
  3.1 Somehow copy it to clipboard and the use it
  3.2 Export it to a file and read it from there

Eugene S proposed the following answer:
Hi,

If you need to click on all the icons on the screen you can use the
following loop:

for icon in findall("iconimage.png"):
click(icon)

To scroll down you can just use the PageDown buttonin many cases:
type(Key.PAGE_DOWN)
