Re: CSrequest
I'd be a little concerned about day after day, month after month of condensation forming in the sockets. It probably won't hurt anything...but, it'll never dry out either. I know two people who insist on doing just that and no problems so far after a year..but. Hummm I can see a possibility that if water were to build up in there that some of the socket material could plate from one to the other and eventually build up a conductive track that could throw the gen off and maybe even leak down into the CS batch. I'd let the thing dry out between batches. Re: CSppm lab results and quirks
Welcome to the wonderful world of infallable science where no two labs can agree on anything and no two processes even come close. A PWT only reads ions for sure...maybe correctly and maybe not. Depends on what lab results you compare the readings to. Do let us know what the titration lab comes up with that they're happy with. At least they admit there might be an error. That alone is a rarity. Ode At 06:45 AM 6/13/2003 +0530, you wrote: Hi! I'm getting some confusing results here, from lab tests for ppm of concentrated CS. One lab is saying 50ppm in atomic absorption, but that they cannot measure for particulate silver with the technique. Another lab is saying 900ppm for another sample from the same batch, though telling me this is inaccurate and they'll repeat the procedure. But they're doing some titration process, which presumably does account for particulate silver. Is it true that atomic absorption will only measure ions? Does anybody know of some kind of simplified information that list all the various characterization techniques that apply? I'm thinking I'll try to get hold of the Hannah PWT device, a little more independent of the idiosyncrasies. Reid -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver. Re: CSRe Heating CS
Andy Ed, Why spend all the energy and time trying to concentrate CS? Just drink more of it, either larger quantities, or probably better, drink the same amount more frequently. This is guaranteed to get more product into your system, whereas the only sure way to know if you have successfully concentrated CS is to have it analyzed by a lab. Then you have to worry about stability - will the stronger product start agglomerating and form larger particles, or start plating out on the storage container? If you do try to boil down a batch, be sure to do it in a pyrex or other glass/ceramic container, not a metal one. If you are trying to concentrate the product to reduce shipping costs, then I recommend just ship a generator, and let the remote person make his own. --Steve Y. - Original Message - From: ascottsil...@aol.com To: silver-list@eskimo.com Sent: Saturday, June 14, 2003 11:29 PM Subject: CSRe Heating CS Hi Ed. Hi Tony, I got a bit more serious about measuring the thickness and discovered the 2 inner electrodes are actually about .008 and the outer ones are about .011 so the silver is leaving the electrodes. The problem with measuring is that they are so close to each other and they're also corrugated for rigidity that I cannot get the caliper in place. I cannot see or feel any porosity. Re: CSquestions some more. COMMENT
Dear Hank, In all probability colloidal silver will not be of direct assistance in overcoming the particular insult you are addressing. However, I believe a course of Cetyl Myristoleate (CMO) may offer some genuine value. Organized medicine has, to my knowledge, failure to isolate a single cause for this type of osseous deterioration . However, I believe that Diehl, et al, were successful in addressing hip dysplasia in experimental dog researches.back in the early days of evaluating CMO (circa 1980s). If it was MY dog, I would start him, immediately, on 3 to 5 grams of CMOdaily.for at least 20 days. Additionally, I would give him 4000 mg of Gluscosamine Sulphate and 2400 mg of Chondroitin Sulphate. Additionally, I would give him an initial dose of 300 mg vitamin B-6 and follow with 100 mg dailyfor an extended period (30 days plus). There are other, less critical, things you could do (especially Kelp, at 1 tbsp daily---mixed thoroughly in his food), but these I consider critical. The reasoning is quite simpleWobbles appears to be a disorder of continuing osseous wasting, together with the associated complications attending such. Logic seems to dictate that stopping this circumstance (CMO has displayed to have the capability to turn off the Renegade T-4 cells which appear to destroy live tissue in the articulating joints of the bodies of higher mammals) is paramount. Until and unless this is accomplished, the prognosis for halting the progression appears quite dim. Dobermans and German Shepards seem to be most prone to this insult. If MY DOG was displaying evidence of pain, I would put him on 2 heaping teaspoons, daily, of granulated alfalfa. We have enjoyed wonderful success with this protocol (for both pain and mobility), when utilized to address hip dysplasia..in our experimental researches. The effect upon unstable, pain-ridden sufferers has been.in many cases.simply miraculous. Sincerely, Brooks Bradley. CSAdditional Comment on Dog Wobbles post
Dear List Members, I feel compelled to make a post-script to my earlier message. It relates to the general diets of our canine pets. I am not alone in my conviction that diet is a crucial consideration in the general health of dog companions. Some researchers, from among those I consider most knowledgeable, are convinced that a majority of degenerative changes occurring among our general canine populationfinds a principal cause in NUTRITIONAL deficiencies.not just in premature aging or traumatic disruption. One factor appears evident.degeneration of the cervical structure appears to be self-perpetuatingonce it becomes manifest. Altering the diet of canines toward a more natural, unprocessed, intake seems to encourage a general improvement in all aspects of general health/vitality and toward idealizing body mass. Thanks to the suggestions posted on the web site of a fine gentleman by the name of Langsley T. Russell (a one-time member of the silver list...maybe even still is), we instituted a version of his recommended BARF diet.with SPECTACULAR results. Our family dogs (most especially the older, less active, ones) have benefitted wonderfully---from our adopting a Bones and Raw Food based diet. Additionally, it has proved to be less expensive (in real terms)most especially when one considers the reduction in sickness and its attendant vet costs. Originally, we instituted this type of diet to address the obesity of some of our older adult dogs. We were overjoyed at the unexpected side-effects of berautiful hair coats and youthful vitality which returned. Langsley is a pronounced fan of colloidal silver, and pays handsome tribute to its effectivenessand makes very complimentary reference to some of our list membership, especially some of our CS Generator makers. Langsley's website contains some most useful information on such things as his opinion on the Heart Worm situation, parasites in general and Colloidal Silver. For those interested in referring to his website, I include the urlit is Http://www.bullovedbulldogs.com Although I do not know him personally, I have corresponded, at some length via email. with him. I found him to be erudite and most ingratiatingly pleasant. His comments on heartworms I found quite fascinating. Please forgive this lengthy post. CSCurrent Regulation - Constant Voltage?
Ooops The anode is the one with the little plus sign, right? I always get 'em mixed up! I am gonna try the shoelace trick. I got this suggestion for my current regulation problem. Looks like I need to make a trip to Radio Shack. recommend using the LM334. This will let you regulate currents way below 1 ma, should you choose to do so, whereas the LM317 and other voltage regulators usually cannot regulate current reliably below a few ma. LM334s are available for less than $1 from mail order parts houses, e.g. www.Jameco.com . A 330 ohm resistor will set the constant current to about 0.2 ma. If you search for LM334 (e.g. with Google, etc.) you can find and download data sheets that tell you how to calculate a resistor value for a given current. Or, just put a 22 ohm resistor in series with a 500 ohm potentiometer and set the current to whatever you want. Put a milliamp meter in series with the wire to one of the electrodes and set the current by adjusting the pot, using already brewed CS as your current load. With adjusting the current to 1.2 - 1.6 milamp per sq in of anode area should prevent the sludge buildup? My power supply cuts into constant current mode about an hour into the brew cycle( but is still too high.) I start out at 30 VDC and when the brew is reading 12-13 on the PWT the voltage is being throttled down to 18-20 VDC. If I use this LM334 curent limiter for a preset current to the brew cell, I will need to set my power supply to provide more amperage than my curretn setup, thius preventing the unit from entering the constant current mode. Thus I will be using a steady voltage throughout the process. Is 30 VDC the place to start? I can adjust from 0-32 VDC with this unit. Thanks for keeping me on my toes!!
