Just means a moth layed eggs on the rice before it was harvested (or
even more likely a moth got into your kitchen and laid eggs on the rice

The changes in the gravity above the disks typically run from 3%
to 10% or so with the experiments that were run at Oak Ride Labs.

   Let's make a gravity wheel:

  http://www.keelynet.com/gravity/scwheel.gif

That is an interesting concept, have not seen it before. But a quick
analysis shows that it cannot work.

I did a quick calculation in Mercury and put the results at the end.

If we use a 10 inch diameter superconducting disk with liquid
nitrogen cooling, and a 6 ft chord of a steel flywheel, your 10%
reduction in gravity would provide a lifting force of 157.2 lb.

OK.

If we offset this force 6 ft from the center of the flywheel, it
   would provide a torque of 943.23 ft/lb.

If we limit the circumferential velocity to the maximum recommended
value of 820 ft/sec for steel flywheels, this would produce 1167.29
   RPM.

With a torque of 943.23 ft/lb, this is 209.64 horsepower, or
   156,390.9 Watts.

OK, provided you did not lose the energy when the wheel travels from the
left side to the right side..

We could get Edmund Scientific to supply the superconducting disks.
A small generator to supply 10 Litres/day of liquid nitrogen would
need only 2.5 kW, which is negligible compared to the 156kW
   produced:

 http://www.rigakumsc.com/cryo/nitrogen.html

The flywheel would be 13.4 ft in diameter, 10 inches thick, and
   weigh 56,593.9 lb.

If the steel cost was $1.63 per lb, the flywheel would cost
$92,248.06, or about $0.589 per Watt. The complete installation
would not add much to this value. This is a very attractive cost
ratio, and it would immediately obsolete all current methods of
   generating power.

The only problem is it is completely fictitious. The machine would
be a perpetual motion machine, and is by definition impossible:

But it is not impossible. If it were, the electons would crash into the
nucleuses, and the planets would crash into the stars. Extracting energy
from the ZPE is not impossible, but it can be difficult. Any time you have
an energy input from outside a close system, you can have perpetual motion,
and the ZPE can provide such an input.

Perpetual motion machines (the Latin term perpetuum mobile is not
uncommon) are a class of hypothetical machines which would produce
useful energy in a way which would violate the established laws of
physics. No genuine perpetual motion machine currently exists,

Not true, I have one that is published recently that breaks the second law
of thermodynaics and produces power continuously, and has for over a year
now.

 and
according to certain fundamental laws in physics they cannot
exist. Specifically, perpetual motion machines would violate
either the first or second laws of thermodynamics.

Not true, the second law of thermodynamics has already been proven false,
and on top of that, it only applies to a closed system, when you are working
with the ZPE it is an open system, and thus not applicable. Or if you prefer
to include the ZPE in the closed system, then there is no creation of
destruction of energy, just a transfer from the ZPE part to the physical
part. An ordinary permanent magnet does this, continually produces energy
with no input power, by pulling it from the ZPE.

 Perpetual
motion machines are divided into two subcategories defined by
which law of thermodynamics would have to be broken in order for
the device to be a true perpetual motion machine.

Hi,

lb of food grade DE. I use it on weevils in grain, in the goat's loose
mineral mixture (for worms), on ant beds, dust the dogs for ticks and fleas
and to dust the garden without poisonous chemicals. It looks like sharp
glass under an electron microscope. Lots more information on the internet
and this is my favorite mined product, made from diatoms. Can't find
anything better in my opinion. Do NOT confuse the pool type of DE with food
grade because the pool type has been heated and is ineffective for the above
things.

I GOT AN ANSWER TO MY OWN QUESTION

http://www.onthehouse.com/tips/20060717.

Bubbles and Spice for Ants
You walk into the kitchen and a parade of ants is having a field day on your
countertop. What do you do? Grab the ant spray and give them a blast or two.
It's all-out war. When it's over, you wind up throwing away food and cleaning
up a toxic, smelly mess. But there are other weapons that ants absolutely
hate and you'll love -- because they're clean, nontoxic and safe. Try using
soapy water in a spray bottle (ants hate it). Set the dog's or cat's dish in a
pie pan of soapy water. Here's another Carey Brothers family secret. Instead
of poison powders and toxic sprays, use spice-rack chili powder. Inside or out
it's safe, inexpensive, nontoxic and ants avoid it like the plague. This
summer wage a safe nontoxic war on ants with weapons that blast them and not
you. And that's the On The House tip for today.

It continued to be a problem for decades until I happened to notice
something called a pantry moth trap. There are plenty of entries via
Google

search on those words, but I don't have an unopened pack to tell you about
what I can get here. It's a flat cardboard that you fold into a
triangular

tube. You open up a lure and stick it on the sticky inside of the trap.
Moths are attracted to the lure, and get stuck on the sticky stuff. I
hardly ever see a moth now - except stuck in the trap.

-

That's the one I posted the link to the other day. I get it from Gardens
Alive here in the US.

Just means a moth layed eggs on the rice before it was harvested (or even more
likely a moth got into your kitchen and laid eggs on the rice in the bag). I
had the same thing happen with a bag of popcorn once.

I GOT AN ANSWER TO MY OWN QUESTION

Bubbles and Spice for Ants
You walk into the kitchen and a parade of ants is having a field day on your
countertop. What do you do? Grab the ant spray and give them a blast or two.
It's all-out war. When it's over, you wind up throwing away food and cleaning
up a toxic, smelly mess. But there are other weapons that ants absolutely hate
and you'll love -- because they're clean, nontoxic and safe. Try using soapy
water in a spray bottle (ants hate it). Set the dog's or cat's dish in a pie
pan of soapy water. Here's another Carey Brothers family secret. Instead of
poison powders and toxic sprays, use spice-rack chili powder. Inside or out
it's safe, inexpensive, nontoxic and ants avoid it like the plague. This summer
wage a safe nontoxic war on ants with weapons that blast them and not you. And
that's the On The House tip for today.

Hi,

I buy my diatomaceous earth (DE), at the feed store. It cost $19.95 for 50 lb
of food grade DE. I use it on weevils in grain, in the goat's loose mineral
mixture (for worms), on ant beds, dust the dogs for ticks and fleas and to dust
the garden without poisonous chemicals. It looks like sharp glass under an
electron microscope. Lots more information on the internet and this is my
favorite mined product, made from diatoms. Can't find anything better in my
opinion. Do NOT confuse the pool type of DE with food grade because the pool
type has been heated and is ineffective for the above things.

You could try mixing in a little food grade diatomaceous earth with your grains.

where do you get this? will it work on ants?

I suggest using talcum powder its great, non toxic, ants hate it, and it
smells nice too.

Re: CSBugs from Brown rice 2 - Pantry Moth Trap

2006-07-26 Thread Rowena
It's a flat cardboard that you fold into a
triangular tube. You open up a lure and stick it on the sticky inside
 of the trap.
Moths are attracted to the lure, and get stuck on the sticky stuff. I
hardly ever see a moth now - except stuck in the trap.
-

That's the one I posted the link to the other day. I get it from Gardens
Alive here in the US. Sharon

Yes, sorry Sharon, I felt a bit silly when I got down to your post and saw
you had already said much the same thing. I had a look at the link, and
there looks to be some very interesting stuff at Gardens Alive. It's
probably a different company, but same principle, making what we can get
here in Australia, though I just get it at the supermarket. I noticed it
called Pantry Pest Trap, too, as opposed to Pantry Moth Trap.

Rather to my surprise, when I sprayed and cleaned up with my borax/water mix
the ants (which seemed to be heading for my RO water jar) disappeared and
the problem seemed to be over.
