Other suggestions all good. Have heard advice to the effect that one would do well to follow three treatments at the same time.

You can use a voltmeter to tell when to stop, but only on a given setup
that's always the same as referenced by an EC meter.
Current, electrode spacing and surface exposure have to be constants for
voltage to tell you anything.
In *making* CS, the voltage is nearly irrelevant, so it needn't be a
constant.

A PPM meter is an EC meter that dilutes the info it gets to suit salt

Sort of- it looks like your current may be on the high side, otherwise it
would not be so much. It is normal- the water electrolyzes, the silver
picks

it up and it turns to the gunk you see. To control the amount of gunk, you
can control the current more. That you can do with a resistor, diode or
 potentiometer in series.
If you clip your wires to a multimeter set to measure milliamps, it should
read zero when you start- that means there is no current flowing
through the

water to speak of. As the silver ions continue to go into the water, the
conductivity increases and the current flow increases along with that. I
forget what the details are (read formula is), but less than 1 mA
current is

a good idea if your silver surface area is under a certain - yours looks
close to mine, and 1mA is what I am using. Just looking to see what the
current is gives you some clues.
I got a 75 ohm potentiometer at the surplus store and put it in series to
keep a lid on the current. Maybe it was a dollar.

 recovery.

 Hey Mike-

Sorry to take so long, been out of town for a few days.

Yes, on empty stomach, 2 hours minimum after eating anything and
preferably not having eaten too much at that time just to be sure.
Sometimes 3-4 hours since I was really serious about getting the
best effect of this. I did it at night merely because magnesium is
calming and inducing of sleep and because some of these effects
 demanded being still.

I have another reason for getting into enzymes. My wife has a
breast lump that was not diagnosed as cancerous, but the surgeon
tried to scare her into immediate surgery. We are limited in our
options about that here especially because of medical
mega-corporations moving into the area. So we're going alternative.
Enzymes are part of what we're doing and I'm doing everything she's
doing just on general principle. Besides, I have a few lumps and
such scattered around and want to see what enzymes will do for
 them.

There are many excellent enzymes out there, so many that it is
confusing, but I was really impressed when Bragg's got into the
 act:
 www.braggzyme.com.
It seems to me that Bragg's doesn't get into something that they
don't totally believe in. I listened to the audio at that site by
William Wong, over and over and decided this was for me.

We ordered ours from Fubao Health Store in San Francisco and were
pleased with their price and their free shipping deal over $99.
 Delivery was timely.

My wife is eating raw Daikon Radish as part of her enzyme effort.
 Supposedly
they help disperse fibro-tumors. We are also considering
Lumbrokinase which is fairly new. I'd really like to hear from
 anyone who has taken it.

 Hope this helps, Bob/DaddyBob

Although chlorine dioxide has chlorine in its name,

Just last week, little dd stabbed dh in the eye with a screwdriver

surprisingly quickly.

Thank you for having me,

I should also have mentioned DMSO in my first reply.
I have been applying DMSO to my shoulder and it helps with inflammation and
pain.
I also use Topricin with the DMSO (usually right after applying DMSO), it
helps with the inflammation and reduces itching and drying of the skin from
the DMSO.
I use the following brand of DMSO, which is on the expensive side but is a
good one to start with for a beginner (like me) because it has few of the
reported side effects:

[Lisa] Has anybody had any experience (or luck) in normalizing thyroid
function with CS? Or even a combination of CS, MMS, DMSO or anything else?
I've been having issues (originally diagnosed at hypo.now possibly hyper).
I've got an appt with an endocrinologist at the end of the month: however, I
certainly would like to self-treat and use the dr. for tests/results and
possibly a diagnosis.

==

Lisa,

I'm one of the most do-it-yourself people around. However, I can tell you
from personal experience that thyroid disorders are among the few conditions
that one should NOT self-treat.

The situation you describe, where you're alternately hypo and now possibly
hyper, sounds like it might be an autoimmune condition affecting your
thyroid. In autoimmune conditions, the body attacks various tissues. In
Hashimoto's thyroiditis, an autoimmune condition affecting the thyroid,
there are two sets of antibodies that the body has produced.

Metagenics makes two nutritional products, one for each set of antibody
markers, to help stabilize and overcome the autoimmune component of thyroid
disorders. It's reasonable to assume that the presence of mycoplasma and
other bacteria without cell walls (or other genetically engineered
pathogens) inside the tissues have caused the body to attack itself.
However, whether CS would help can only be seen with experimentation, as the
CS must touch pathogens in order to work. I'm not sure CS could reach inside
the cell wall to a transformed microbe; does anyone know?

Supplementation with the proper thyroid hormone is paramount. An article I
wrote an article on Hypothyroidism Type 2 was published in the December 2008
issue of Townsend Letter. While it does not address autoimmune problems of
the thyroid per se, it will give you enough information so you can see how
complex the situation is. You can read the article here:

http://www.nenahsylver.com/holistic_health_hypothyroidism.html

There are other articles you can link to as well about the thyroid gland.

Before I see an endocrinologist, I would ask what success s/he has had with
natural therapies, and if s/he has used any nutritional supplements in
combination with thyroid hormone-and also what types of thyroid hormone are
being used.

Good luck. Let us know how you fare.

Luckily pine trees are found in abundance all over the U.S. so it’s an
easy and free tea that you can make at home. We just happen to have a white
pine tree in our back yard, so it’s very easy to make this tea all year
round, even in the midst of winter.
1/2 cup of pine needles--green young needles are best..
*   1.5 pints of  water
* Bring water to boil in a stainless steel pan (do not use aluminum)

* Add the pine needles, reduce heat to a simmer for 20 minutes to
overnight.
* Strain needles and drink warm or cold
* you can also put them in unbleached tea bags
* The tea should be red in color with a little oil floating on top.
You can add honey or cinnamon if you like, (since I have type 2 diabetes I
add cinnamon). It really doesn’t taste like pine; it has a very mild
flavor.White pine needles have 5 needles on each sprig…
but you can use any pine or fir tree (though the recipe may differ).

My wife was diagnosed as hypo-thyroid.
Her doctor wanted her to take synthroid.
She researched the side effects and decided no way!
Instead, she took a natural, organic hormone recommended by Jonathan Wright
(Naturoid or something like that?).
This gave her some scary chest pains, so she discontinued it.
After more research, she took between 1 and 2 tablespoons of virgin coconut oil
per day.
After a few months of this, her thyroid test was back to normal.
She still takes a teaspoon per day for maintenance.

Pretty good info out there. Brownstein has a book called Iodine: Why You Need

some in places. But what to do is pretty clear along with when things don't go
exactly right. Low iodine status is clearly (imho) a huge factor in hypo and
hyper thyroid too, but cancer is the biggie that seems to respond so well to
sufficient iodine. At least in prevention, maybe not quite as much so, in
treatment. My opinion, which I think is an informed and considered one. pj

RE: CSthyroid issues

2009-10-20 Thread Gina Moore
You've gotten a lot of good info on thryoid! I've been studying thyroid and
adrenal issues for a little over a year, and everything that has been said
here is consistent with what I've found! Just do your research and find out
what works for you. Coconut oil is fantastic for thyroid, and the sites you
were given are the same sites I go to. Here's one more...
http://www.hormoneandlongevitycenter.com/thyroidtreatments1/

I will agree that thyroid is not really a good do-it-yourself type of thing.
You need proper testing (Free T3 and Reverse T3, along with the typical TSH
and T4 that docs order) at the very least. It's hard to find a good doc,
but try first!

Check out all the sites you've been given. You'll find a ton of info and
can make a better decision on what will work for you. Monitor your symptoms
daily so you can get a feel for where you are (temps, BP, pulse...

Just last week, little dd stabbed dh in the eye with a screwdriver

Re: CSQuackbusters sue each other

2009-10-20 Thread Marshall Dudley
They sued Bolen and Clark and others for libel for telling the truth. It
was a SLAPP suit and recognized as such by the court. (that is a suit
without merit which is simply filed to try to stop someone from doing
something legal by harassment and costs). They ( Barrett, the Canadian
Guy, and the attorney filing the suite who was also part of the suit)
lost that suit, and the judge found that it was a slapp suite, and ruled
that they had to pay for all the costs, about $30,000. One of the
parties in the original suit was the Canadian guy who runs the Canadian
equivalent of quackbusters, and had been successful in preventing
various health advocates such as Clark from speaking in Canada by
threats of bodily harm. Anyway, on appeal 2 of the 3 judgments were
supported, but the judgment against the Canadian was overturned. An
offer was made to the attorney that if the Canadian guy dropped out of
the lawsuit then they would drop him from the creditors who owed the
$30,000 on the slapp suit since most likely the supreme court would find
in favor of the original court. The attorney did not inform the
Canadian of this offer, which he would have accepted, and appealed to
the California supreme court without his concent, at a cost of around
$300,000. They lost on all 3 counts, and a slapp aware was granted on
the $300,000 against the 3 plaintiffs. Then the plaintiff's attorney
split up the costs assigned to the 3 so that almost all the cost went to
the Canadian, who was then sued in Canadian court and lost. So he is
suing the attorney for filing a suit that he did not authorize, and then
assigning almost all the charges from that suit to him to pay. But he
may not get his money even if he wins, the attorney has it seems gone
bankrupt (monetarily as well as morally), even losing his house.

I would like know what he said, just for my own knowledge!

I know that if you take iodine or thyroid hormones without first supporting
adrenals, you can have a very bad reaction. It's because the adrenal
hormone cortisol is needed to process the thyroid/iodine, and if there isn't
enough, it will make you have hypERthyroid like reaction - heart palps,
anxiety, nervousness, etc... This is why you need to check adrenals and
thyroid together! They go hand in hand.

Hi Lisa,

I became hypo-thyroid in May 2007...Had saliva tests to confirm it,
began taking this glandular (with thyroxin removed):

http://tinyurl.com/yg6r5fz

Then I discovered high-dosage iodine (brand name is Iodoral) and worked
up to 75mg of Iodoral a day...and had to stop taking the glandular in a
period of three months.

You have been given the link to the iodine and thyroid list, but I will
repeat it here:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/iodine/

Stephanie was running the list, it has very high traffic, but very good
information.

The high dosage iodine has significant benefits for the entire body,
including detoxing fluorines, bromines, chlorines.

Highly recommended...and I know that our fearless leader was doing this
as well.

Kind regards,

What Mercola acutally wrote was this:

Getting Your Iodine Levels Up

If you are iodine deficient, I recommend adding sea vegetables to your diet.

The best source of organically bound iodine that I know of is
non-commercially harvested seaweeds. The dose is about 5 grams a day
or about one ounce per week, so a pound would last about two months.

It is typically better to obtain a nutrient from a natural food
whenever possible than from a supplement, so use supplements only as a
last resort.

Some patients also report that they respond better to food-based forms
of iodine -- like seaweeds -- than the supplement forms. However, if
you are going to use a supplement I would strongly advise using
supersaturated iodine (SSKI) which is available as an inexpensive
prescription. Typically 1-3 drops a day are all that are required.

Please avoid using Lugol’s solution or iodine, as that will actually
worsen your thyroid condition.

Keeping your iodine levels optimal is particularly important if you
are a women that is contemplating pregnancy, or are already pregnant
Make sure you are taking seaweed or a prenatal vitamin with the right
amount and form of iodide, not iodine, to help protect your baby.

Hi Dan,

Actually, there are over 20,000 case studies that are discussed at the
iodine4health.com site, which are in direct contradiction to what you
are saying about Lugol's.  Iodoral is Lugol's in pill form and a lot
easier to take.

Also the history of Lugol's use for many, many problems goes back a
very long time.

Take a look at the iodine site, you will find it interesting.  These
folks are doing more research on the use of what amounts to Lugol's
being used in humans, than perhaps any other supplement.

Sadly the training programs are few and far between, this means there
are not enough well trained therapists. You will find them listed in
the member directory that can be found at http://
www.myofascialtherapy.org/. You will see a blue box on the left side.
Hopefully you may be able to see someone close to you in that listing.

You can also email the therapists there and ask if they know of
anyone close to you if they are not close enough. There may be
someone that they know that is good, but not in our organization.
Another possibility is to send me another note and I will post your
request on our professional email group which includes some therapist
that are not on the website listing.

You may also find some help by joining the myotherapy yahoo group
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/myotherapy/On this group
there are other folks with myofascial pain and therapists that are
doing trigger point work. You can ask questions and request help.
This group is not affiliated with the NAMTPT in any way.

You can try to find a therapist at
http://www.myopainseminars.com/seminars/travell/series_grads
 http://www.bonnieprudden.com/helpline.html
http://www.nmtcenter.com/practitioner/

Our website also lists several training programs and you might try
contacting them for a lead.

I can't personally vouch for any practitioners listed in these sites
but it is a good start. Ask them about their training. I hope this
helps.

Another possibility is to come to the training programs yourself or
encourage a friend or loved one to do so. That may sound far-
reaching, but that is actually what most of us have done. So many
MTPT where having pain themselves (some debilitating) and found it so
extremely helpful that we changed our lives and went to school to
learn to help ourselves and others! (part of class is working on each
other)

You can also look for books by Claire Davies Trigger Point Therapy
Workbook and Frozen Shoulder Workbook... big help for self care.

Please let me know if I can help you further or if you are having
problems. cm...@zbzoom.net

Subject: CSthyroid issues

Is anyone researching using Lugol's Iodine for help with thyroid issues??
Pretty good info out there.  Brownstein has a book called Iodine:  Why You Need
It; Why You Can't Live Without It  good reading and will be challenging for
some in places.  But what to do is pretty clear along with when things don't go
exactly right. Low iodine status is clearly (imho) a huge factor in hypo and
hyper thyroid too, but cancer is the biggie that seems to respond so well to
sufficient iodine.  At least in prevention, maybe not quite as much so, in
treatment.  My opinion, which I think is an informed and considered one.  pj

Hi Craig,

I wasn't saying anything about Lugol's.

However, on reading Mercola's comments, which I have no investment in
(of any sort, neither financial or emotional), it appears that he is
making a distinction between iodine and iodide. Lugol's apparently
has both in it. Whether this is a valid concern, I am not able to
discern... That being said, it appears that even he is not able to be
consistent in his references to iodine and iodide in his own

I haven't been able to read it yet, but the site you indicated, under

Actually, there are over 20,000 case studies that are discussed at the
iodine4health.com site, which are in direct contradiction to what you are
saying about Lugol's.  Iodoral is Lugol's in pill form and a lot easier to
 take.

Also the history of Lugol's use for many, many problems goes back a very
 long time.

Take a look at the iodine site, you will find it interesting.  These folks
are doing more research on the use of what amounts to Lugol's being used in
humans, than perhaps any other supplement.

2009-10-20 Thread Craig Chamberlin

Hi Dan,

I see now that it was in the quote from Mercola...I didn't see that:)

My mistake.

I find Mercola's inconsistency to be disturbing and his statement very
misleading. The body requires both iodine and potassium iodide which is
why Lugol's or Iodoral are great supplements. Having said that, I
believe sol is highly allergic to iodine yet Brownstein (he is part of
the group) has only found (at last reading) person who was allergic and
that was over come. Be interesting if she we close enough to Brownstein
could examine her:)

Yes, Iodoral is 5mg iodine and 7.5mg potassium iodide, Lugol's is made
with 5g iodine, 10g iodide and mixed with 85 ml distilled water...and
ends up at the same ratio because of a chemical reaction which I don't
understand.

Craig

Current, electrode spacing and surface exposure have to be constants for

In *making* CS, the voltage is nearly irrelevant, so it needn't be a

Could the CS CAUSE or CURE the Lichen Planus?

QUESTION: RE: (fwd)Chuck's eye concoction--WAS Re: CSRE: floaters in the eyes

2009-10-20 Thread Lisa
Hi All

I made Mike's recipe after receiving my Eyebright from Doc Christopher.
Is it really supposed to burn so terribly bad?!?!?! I measured it exactly...
1 oz CS, 1 tsp MSM powder, 15 drops of Eyebright Tincture and a couple
dropperfulls of 99% DMSO -- which wound up being two dropperfuls that were
about half way filled.

I don't have an eyecup so I used the dropper and got maybe one or two drops
in each eye...I have to say, it burnt like hell! What can I do to make it
not sting so badly? Dilute with more CS (rather EIS)?

And how often do I do this...once at night?

THANK YOU!

Lisa

P.S. I did find that 5 drops in distilled water (Doc's suggestion) stung
just a little bit...but the above really stung badly (so much so that I
don't know if I can do it again...however, if it will improve my eyes I
could talk myself into it maybe once a day). Help!

 Eyebright Formula Tincture
A couple dropperfulls of 99% DMSO

 it will sting a bit.
One question: I can't tolerate anywhere near that much MSM, has anyone
tried the formula with say, 1/8 to 1/4 tsp MSM and found it still
effective?

One recommendation is to start out with 10,000 iu D3 for
30 days, then 5,000 iu per day for maintenance. If you
get the flu take 50,000 iu for three days.

This is per the recommendation of Dr Jaquelyn McCandless
who is working with Low Dose Naltrexone for HIV and Autism.

Autistic kids have poor immune function according to her.

She also recommends LDN for all her patients over 60 as
a preventative and libido booster.

It looks like EC meters are much
less expensive than what I had seen previously. One of the sites given to me
earlier had a meter but it was well over $100.

I hate to be a pain but would a meter such as this one on ebay
(http://tinyurl.com/yzzzvbn) be appropriate
for these solutions?

You can use a voltmeter to tell when to stop, but only on a given setup
that ' s always the same as referenced
by an EC meter.
Current, electrode spacing and surface exposure have to be constants for
voltage to tell you anything.
In *making* CS, the voltage is nearly irrelevant, so it needn ' t be a
constant.

A PPM meter is an EC meter that dilutes the info it gets to suit
salt
water.

Although chlorine dioxide has chlorine in its name,
its chemistry is radically different from that of chlorine. When reacting

example, it does not react with ammonia or most organic compounds.
Chlorine dioxide oxygenates products rather than

chlorinating them

One recommendation is to start out with 10,000 iu D3 for
30 days, then 5,000 iu per day for maintenance. If you
get the flu take 50,000 iu for three days.

This is per the recommendation of Dr Jaquelyn McCandless
who is working with Low Dose Naltrexone for HIV and Autism.

Autistic kids have poor immune function according to her.

She also recommends LDN for all her patients over 60 as
a preventative and libido booster.

Not sure what type of gastric problem but aloe vera juice

soothe an irritated or inflamed tummy. DMSO orally has been used

FWIW: My husband had stomach problems (constant gas/bloating) all his

drinking CS alone (before we knew about the benefits of DMSO).

Hi Gina,

Yes upon further investigation I see that it is actually recommended to
take 100 - 200,000 mg. a day for seven days depending on weight if you have
the flu. Maintenance dose is much lower 5 - 10,000 mg a day.

I guess if you did this every day for a long period of time it
could be a problem. But we are only talking about three
days. I don't know the mechanism but obviously it is to
kick the immune system into gear cause you are sick.

I am just quoting Dr McCandless on the dosing.
