The ones I've used were like a light bulb made of a coil covered with ceramics, and must go in a ceramic screw-in base. They are sold as reptile warmers. Using one for a hour or more has permanently fixed a very bad neck, and I used it to heal from a broken rib and from back pain. It shuts off pain signals and also causes ligaments and tendons to relax and get back into the right alignment for me. I would like to caution that anyone who takes clay internally first do some research on how to take it. It is detoxifying and it absorbs 'a lot' so you can get yourself painfully bound up very quickly. Personally I could only take the amount on the tip of a knife along with 3 Triphala capsules to make sure this didn't happen. The acids on your skin activate the sodium chlorite during washing, so be sure to lather for awhile before rinsing. I am amazed at how nice a lather works up from this solution. It is silky smooth. The 1 PPM EIS may linger under the finger nails, it's hard to rinse all of the soap out from there, and may offer some timed release protection. I have used this while camping as a whole body wash and also to wash out dishes. The only downside that I can come up with is that it is not as thick as the original formula. Unfortunately it isn't just uneducated people who fall prey to the many scam artists out there. When an entire industry pulls together, with the help of the government, they can come very close to the ideal of fooling ALL the people ALL the time. There are very few who can see beyond the hype and scams, and find our own way. That's why this email list exists. I have to add -- whenever anybody tries to make claims such as this, there are always a bunch of nay-sayers who jump up and down yelling about conspiracy theories. Well guess what... There really are conspiracies, and they are here and now, and our own government is a big part of them. Get used to it. The only caution would be to keep it out of direct UV light and to keep the temperature of it below somewhere around 120 F. I suppose it would also be good to keep the minimum temperature above 30 F. I generally make is as I use it, but I was able to find a bottle that I mixed up about 6 months ago. It lathered up just like new stuff. I haven't done any testing beyond that. I have used this while camping as a whole body wash and also to wash out dishes. The only downside that I can come up with is that it is not as thick as the original formula.
