CS>silver and mold
Would like your opinion on somethingabout a month ago or so, I made a lotion recipe I have. I used CS instead of the distilled water that was called for. (The oils that are in this recipe are roughly 1/2 of the amount of water, by the way.) Made the recipe the same as a zillion times previously, using sterilized jars, etc. The only difference was using the CS instead of regular distilled water. The CS was some I made with a generator from Ole Bob, I think. The CS itself has a slight color change from regular water, so apparently it really IS CS!!! I don't know how else to tell. I put no preservative of any kind in this lotion thinking that the CS would inhibit the growth of any critters. Boy, was I ever wrong!!! Imagine my surprise this morning when I took the lid off a brand new jar to be met with all kinds of fuzzies I feel sort of let down from this - how can CS be inhibiting/destroying/killing/preventing anything in our bodies when it won't do that at a 50% ratio in a jar Would like to see some discussion on this. CS>Re: San Luis Potasi
Now this is absolutely fascinating. Since this city is using CS in the water supply, wouldn't it stand to reason that those million people who live there and drink this water would be a much healthier bunch than the rest of us??? Wouldn't this be a great place to do some kind of study/research on CS?? This looks like fertile ground for some serious work. A 1.3 ounce bottle costs less than a dollar and lasts at least a month with daily usage. The entire city of San Luis Potosi, Mexico, population 1 million, has successfully used CS to purify the city's water supply for the past 40 years. -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver. CS>Questions
I am having some challenges with a silver generator I have only used 3 times, including today. It is supposed to automatically turn off, but then you supposedly, or at least as I understand it, can plug the unit back in and thus brew a stronger batch. First of all, when I added a little of my old CS, it would only stay on for a few seconds at a time. So I ditched that idea. Got distilled water from a different source, and started over - did not add any old CS .this time the unit stayed on for about 2 hours. I cleaned the silver rods, stirred the mixture and plugged the unit in to make a more potent batch, as the directions said I could. Well, I cannot keep that thing on for more than 3 minutes at a time now. Has anyone else encountered this, and what exactly is the work-around for this challenge? I have emailed the manufacturer, but only got a response telling me to try water from a different source. I have not heard back yet on my other questions. I'm wondering if it is shutting off just because there's actually some CS in thereso how can I ever make a stronger batch then??? CS>neutralizing aloe
Okay, now I'm lost. What does this mean? Why would you want to neutralize aloe vera when it's with CS? What happens? Thanks, Jean "I had at one time thought of suggesting that sodium hydroxide could be used as well as baking soda for neutralizing aloe vera when you add CS..." -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver. CS>Re: sodium hydroxide
It is impossible to make a bar of soap without sodium hydroxide. You can certainly make a detergent bar without, but not a bar of soap. Also, in a properly made bar of soap, there isn't any lye left because it has saponified. Jean I Anyone that read ingredients like I do, would know that sodium hydroxide shows up many places, especially in many toiletries, such as shampoo. It is also a major component in many soaps. CS>Re: lotion
Yes, I know all about Silvadine! Hubby had severe burns from falling into a hot springs out in the middle of nowhere one year - he knows about Silvadine even better than I do. Next time hubby got burned, he had a run-in with a hot radiator when the cap blew off. I figured out what to do darn quickly after the doctor refused to see him at the officesaid he was burned too bad and should go to the hospital. We had no insurance, so we went instead to the health food store! (Today you could never find where he had those burns either!) I wonder what they put in Silvadine for pain? Anyone know if there would be a risk of having the CS react with Essential Oils? I'm thinking there could be...it would probably have to be pretty basic. Any chemists out there? I thought that I would add to the lotiion idea a bit. There is a compound that is used in almost all medical facilities to treat burns. 'Silvadine' It is a white creamy base and available by prescription only. Good luck with the lotion idea. KP -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver. CS>Re: CS lotion/creme
The recipe sounds familiar . I'd be curious to know more about that as it is reputed to help with insect bites as well. If not, it is possible that the MSM may have been added when the liquid was at a high temp - have heard this inactivates the MSM completely. Anyway, I will soon be making a cream with CS as I believe it will be easier to use in terms of topical/skin applications. EMU oil, MSM, and Aloe Vera. Can't say that it improved it. My boy just returned from Florida covered with mosquito bites. He used the salve on his bites. He is now in Hawaii so I don't know if the salve helped. Brickey -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver. CS>CS Lotion
Hi, I have been making soaps and lotions for years, and this idea has been lurking in my brain for a couple of years now. Have never seen anything like this discussed on this list either! So here goes. Can anyone here think of why a lotion or creme made with CS (in lieu of distilled water) would not be effective? I have psoriasis, and I know that the CS can stop the itching, and sometimes almost makes it disappear. It's just too awkward to keep applying it to spots like elbows, etc. I'm thinking this would be so much better in a creme made with other oils that have beneficial properties for psoriasis. There may even be a synergy there between say emu oil (or neem) and CS! Who knows? Question #2: How about marketability of such a creme? I already make salves, moisturizing creams, and one with MSM and Glucosamine in it for folks with arthritic aches and pains, but has anyone ever seen or heard of anything with CS in it? I mean like a lotion or soap or some thing along those lines? I can't think why this wouldn't work, but if there's something I'm missing, please let me know! I'm going to do this for myself either way, but in terms of selling it...well, guess I'm still gathering information! Jean -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver. CS>Lost websites
I bookmarked a website someone here recommended as it had a simple generator for $39.95. Immediately thereafter, my computer crashed (after downloading IE 6)...so I lost everything. I know there's only 2 kinds of computers - those that have crashed, and those that are going to - but it is SO painful to lose everything!!! Could someone please repost that website for me? Also, I lost the site that sold the silver small gauge wire to use in making CS. Need that one too, obviously. Thanks! BJ -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver.
