I use Elixa's CS300D and am pleased with the consistent results. Makes 7-10 ppm
in 14-16 minutes. Uses no salt. www.elixa.com.

I can recommend the CS300D from Elixa at www.elixa.com.
It has worked perfectly out of the box from day one and is very consistent. I
am making 7-9 ppm in 16 minutes consistently. I first made some test batches,
had them tested and standardized on the procedure that gave me the results I
wanted.

Just thought I would throw in how I have used the TDS-1. I bought a box oftheir
calibration solution also. I made several different batches of cs and monitored
the procedures carefully. Sent the stuff to "ole Bob" to get tested. Bob sent
back the results and I settled on one procedure to make the cs. Every batch I
have made since then has been consistent. I calibrate the TDS-1 each time and
the before and after readings are very close and consistent. I will use up the
calibration solution and probably put the TDS-1 away if it stays this
consistent! Works for me!

Hello Jim;

At risk of sounding stupid, how do you measure microsiemens?
What is the range or target that you use?
Do you measure the microsiemens after you have made the cs, and if so, what
range do you like to see?

Learning all I can, lots to learn!
Thanks for any help you can pass on.

I boil it only because it is recommended for consistency purposes!
I just had some samples tested using boiled and unboiled cs. The boiled cs had
a slightly smaller particle size. The unboiled had a better tyndall effect, the
boiled was weak.
What does it mean? They were both good, both close to the same ppm, so I'll
boil just for consistency's sake if it is!
