Signing off
Hello People, I'm signed on to too many lists, & in the middle of too many tight schedules right now, including selling, packing, moving, (twice in the next few months). Also, I decided to invest the time I have in organizing, reading & researching more in depth, what I have learned from some *very* wonderful people on these lists. So I'll be unsubscribing, at least for now. If anyone wishes to email me privately, feel welcome & I'd appreciate being included in any essays on alternative therapies. -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver. Brooks Bradley writes about lab quality melatonin in the studies. There are a LOT of chemicals involved in processing & some manufacturers are not as quality conscious as others. If Debbie tried only one brand, she may have reacted to some chemical unique to that brand, besides the melatonin. If she reacted to several different brands of melatonin, it may be a common chemical used in processing. And then, it's always possible that some individuals have a unique sensitivity. -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver. Hi Vern, Right now, Claire Gilbert & I are involuntary experts on unhappy teeth. Both of us are using 'Under the Gum', an herbal mixture that is used in a waterpik device. It's from the Dental Herb Co, 1-800-747-4372, in Northampton, MA. I've just used it twice, so I can't comment much, except to say I like it. Viktoras Kulvinskas, Survival in the 21st Century, was the only helpful information I could find. He advocates using alkaline paste or seasalt for brushing. Seawater or grass juice, & zone therapy in the knuckles of fingers & toes will relieve a toothache. To keep the tooth, he recommends reducing the acid condition of the body. Use several enemas during the day (I've been finding colonics VERY helpful). Eat alkaline juices, sprouts, sesame seed & sea vegetables. I mostly eat fruits & vegetables, but I concentrated on taking chlorophyll, barley grass powder, beet powder, & wheat grass. I have an infection, so I've been using the zapper; I also had one occasion to use it as a TENS type device to reduce the pain. Spot magnets will aid circulation, healing & pain relief. I also been using lots of bee pollen, with all the B vitamins. B's are for the nerves, so it seemed logical, as well as lots of organic cheese. Claire uses raw, unprocessed honey on her gums. Basically, I would reduce any demands on your body--stress, toxins, pollutants and increase all nutritive avenues--extra rest, power foods, lots of purified water. -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver. UV Irradiation maybe one of the best weapons we have. If you do any unbiased reading on the subject, you will find that: 1) irradiation has not been proven safe 2) irradiation does not eliminate the use of pesticides, but combines two hazardous practices 3) irradiated food is harmful 4) irratiated food merely disguises old stale food into looking fresh 5) the process itself is harmful & polluting. The following comes mostly from "Clearer, Cleaner, Safer, Greener", Gary Null, 1990. In 1970s, the army's industrial testing lab went on trial for fraudulous research. In 1982, the FDA concluded that only 1% of the 413 studies over the last 30 years supported the premise that irradiation was completely safe. The FDA & army officials admit irradiation research is incompetent, fraudulous and filled with poor research techniques. In 1987, Maine banned irradiated food; In 1988, New Zealand banned it, joining Austria, West Germany, Rumania, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Sweden, Abu Dhabi, Dominican Republic, Botswana, Ethiopia, Kenya & Tanzania. In Hungary's 1223 studies, NOT ONE supports the safety of irradated foods. In 1989, NY Governor Mario Cuomo prohibited the sale of irradiated food, with huge consumer support. Irradiation is done only post harvest & will NOT affect preharvest pesticides. Irradiation food is also MORE susceptible to molds & fungi infection. Irradiation creates many times more free radicals, electrically charged & highly reactive molecules that damage living cells. Unique Radiolytic Products (URPs), which are completely new & unknown compounds, are created during irradiation. They have not been tested at all, simply assumed to be safe! Irradiated carbohydrates impair cell division. Irradiated fats change into peroxides & other toxins. In 1968, the FDA found that irradiated foods increased a rat's testicular tumors, pituitary cancer, catarrachs, shortened life span & reduced fertility. Dr Richard Piccioni reported that more than 30 studies between 1960-1981 reporting damage, including chromosomal damage to plants, mutagenicity, chromosomal damage, reduced sperm count, autoimmune disease & polyploidy in animals fed irraditated food. The Soviets found kidney & testicular damage. Canada found it produced extra set of chromosomes. Studies also found nutritional destruction of vitamin E & thiamine in irradiation. Irradiation reduces spoilage only; it increases shelf life. It does NOT stop the natural deterioration of nutrients over time. Irradiated foods only look fresh; they do not taste fresh, nor do they produce the same nutrition. Chernobyl, at 1 million curies of CS-137, is ONE THIRD the size of the proposed irradiation facilities in the middle of high population, urban areas. (I had a friend living in Greece at the time, who experienced mutated chickens in her area, from the distant fallout from Chernobyl) Considering accidental contamination, worker exposure, groundwater & environmental contamination, radiation resistant bacteria, increase in nuclear waste disposal, increased terrorism and transportation accidents, irradiation is not cost effective also. -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver. Second, I had intended this posting to go to Gary alone, not to the whole list, except for the automatic addresser at the top, which is different from the other lists I'm on. Lastly, my primary reason for posting this was to stimulate discussion of standardization of suspension rules. Is everyone entitled to a first warning? Is name calling or swearing automatically considered flaming (I think so) Would it require a certain number of people to consider it flaming (0-5 is acceptable, 5-10 objections from members gets the poster a warning, over 10 gets 2 weeks suspension) Are certain topics automatically considered flaming? Is there a limit to how many times people go back & forth rebuting each other, to the whole list? Are there levels of seriousness (warning first offence, suspension 2 weeks on second, removal on third?) or are there levels of serious among different offenses (differing consequences for different offenses)? I think this is an important topic for the list; it was NEVER my intention to engage in trench warfare.

I sent the question to the list, because I think it's important to have a standardized procedure for suspensions/removals, etc. If religion & politics are off topic period, that should be stated up front. Whatever it is--name calling, swearing, certain topics, certain lengths or number of posts--I think it's important that everyone knows that they'll be suspended, & for how long. It seems to me that you did have a process for rife that would be appropriate here, but I've never seen it. PS If you check, you'll notice I don't believe I've ever said anything about religion. C Silver recipe
Just starting to make colloidal silver. Wondering if we could standardize a recipe. 1) Gauge of silver wire. I have seen everything from 18 gauge to 12 gauge to silver ingots. 2) Purity of silver I've heard anything from 99.9 to 99.999% silver. 3) Amount of silver wire submerged. The best directions were, As much as possible, being careful not to let the alligator clips touch the water. 4) I heard cautions against letting the silver touch the sides or bottom of the glass, to directions to hang the wire over the glass. Why or why not? 5) Length of time I am hoping to get something like For 12 gauge, submerge X inches for Y minutes to get Z potency. For 14 gauge For 16 gauge... For ingots... To get A ppm, cook X minutes To get B ppm, cook Y minutes Can we get any consensus here?

Silver amalgams are called 'silver' mostly because of the color. They are extremely unhealthy. They are 50% mercury (even more toxic than lead), which leaches out. They also contain tin, copper, zinc; all of which corrode. Many people have found that when they remove their amalgams, their health improves dramatically, as well as suddenly getting health problems when they have amalgams put in.

She could have gotten food poisoning, the flu, reacting to a hangover, whatever. Not enough facts, & not enough cases. There are curious glitches in humans, as well as computers.

If Beverly has some FACTS, let her share them with the group. Since it appears that she only has opinions (and not very polite ones), let her keep them to herself, or discuss them maturely with the individual she is addressing.

This is a dream. There is no such product. I worked 8 years in a drug & alcohol information agency, & I wish to emphasize that ALL drugs, even the so-called harmless ones (Tylenol, aspirin, Nutrasweet, etc) contain risks, even serious risks. EVERYONE should be weighing the risks (of everything they put in or on their bodies) vs the benefits. I also think it's the uniformed who believe that the FDA is both educated and responsible to the public that allows it to have such unwarrented interference in the public's search for health. If known poisons/toxins/killer like alcohol & cigarettes are allowed, certainly colloidal silver, tryptophan, amino acids, etc can be allowed.
