Re: CS>CS and Soft Contact Lenses
I seem to recall being told when I first bought contacts that I shouldn't get water on them. Something about water that would cause them to discolor. Not sure how true that is though. Logic would have it that if this were true that the distilled water in CS might cause the same problem. But I really don't know for a fact how that would turn out. I just thought it might be worth mentioning. Maybe others would have more experience with using CS on their contacts. I am curious to know more about this one myself. - Original Message - From: kittykat To: silver-list@eskimo.com Sent: Friday, October 03, 2003 4:04 PM Subject: Re: CS>CS and Soft Contact Lenses Hi Ruth - I am not a scientist, or as scientifically knowledgable as a lot of people on this list, but I would advise against using cs while the lenses are in the eyes. I read on the list a while back where a man said the dentist told him someone had filled his tooth, which wasn't the case, he was just drinking cs. If that is a possibility with the teeth, I would think it might collect on the lens and cause problems to the eyes. I could be wrong and if anyone wants to speak up, please do. But that's just my opinion.

CS>Nebulizer
Okay. I have a question for anyone that can explain... Perhaps this is a silly question. How exactly does a nebulizer work? How does it create the mist that is inhaled into the lungs? I was out shopping for Christmas over the weekend and thought I found an effective and cheap device to get CS into the lungs. Now I think that in my excitement and haste I screwed up by overlooking a simple insight. The device I bought it one of those things that creates the mist (steam) by heating up the liquid. Now I kind of have the feeling I paid 10 bucks for something to distill all the CS out of my already distilled water. :) Is this what is happening to my silver in my steam device? It now makes sense to me that I am probably defeating my purpose. I am sure the silver falls into the catagory of heavies when it comes to heating the water up to a boiling point. All the silver would be left behind in this process, wouldn't it?

Okay. Here is the link for the picture. I hope it works fine. What the picture shows is a pattern on the side of the jar. It goes from the bottom about halfway up side of the jar. It just looks dark in the picture, but it looks very shiny when I look at jar. It wasn't like this when i first made the batch. It must have happened sometime later. Re: CS>e-Mail Virus Jack, It used to be a safe practice believing that NOT opening or executing an attachment as being a foolproof protection against viruses. There is a whole new series of viruses out there floating around in the computer world now. They are programmed in more modern languages and make use of more flaws and vunerabilities that exists in windows and e-mail programs. Some of the more current ones can make use of programming weakness and execute themselves without any help from the recipient. The best and only defense is to have a good antivirus program and keep it updated regularly. It also doesn't hurt to be wary of opening attachments from someone you don't know since some old viruses are probably still getting passed along. Re: CS>CS Making Help
Martha, I am not an expert at making CS. I am sure there are others here that have much more knowledge about this than me. All I can say is that everything I have read and been told is to make CS with distilled water. Nothing has to be added as far as I hear from most of everyone. It doesn't take anything added for CS to start being made in distilled water. Sometimes I hear of others using a little bit of already made CS when making a new batch. I don't think that is absolutely necessary though. It just helps speed up the process a bit. I am sure others will soon post and agree about using distilled water though. - Original Message - From: Martha N. To: silver-list@eskimo.com Sent: Monday, September 23, 2002 3:44 PM Subject: CS>CS Making Help Hello, I am new to making CS, and have made my own generator out of alligator clamps, wire, and a 27 volt ac/dc plug (husband helped make it). :-) Anyway, I have read several sites that say they use spring water instead of distilled water, because spring water has everything in it, where as distilled water you need to add baking soda to get the silver started. So, I decided to use spring water to make my CS so I wouldn't have to add stuff to the water. I tested the spring water and the TDS meter shows 143 on the meter. (is this the ppm?). I also tested the CS when it was finished with the TDS meter and it showed 117 (is this the ppm?). Why would the ppm go down after making CS? Wouldn't it make sense that the number would go up and not down? I read that heating the water makes a higher ppm of CS than using water that is room temperature. So I heated the water, and then put the homemade generator together and started it. You could see that the silver was coming off the silver wire, and the other wire was turning a slight greyish black color. You can also see the silver floating around in the water after the generator was unhooked (the process stopped). The water is a little cloudy. When you drink it, it taste a little bitter. So you would still figure that the number on the TDS meter should read higher, instead of lower. I was on another forum for those making CS, and someone told me that I needed to use the distilled water instead of the spring water. They also said that I needed to get on here and talk to others that make CS to get more information, since their forum had more or less died out. I hope someone on here can help me. Thank you very much, Martha

Re: CS>Weird skin infections? Fishermen ?
Perhaps the hands just being exposed to water all the time has a lot to do with it. I've gotten my hands wet off and on, and being out in the wind (especially cold weather) causes them to become dry and chapped. I have even seen little cracks develop in the skin of my hands. Has anyone looked into that? A lot of things are happening when one keeps his hands wet all the time. The cell walls will weaken and break. Any bacteria has an open door. Bacteria cannot penetrate a healthy cell wall, or a dry cell. When the skin stays wet for extended periods, natures defenses have been destroyed. I bought the Coyote Zenterprizes (silverpuppy) generator awhile back. I wish that I'd bought the one with the stirrer, but I am very pleased with the CS generator I have. I wish that I'd ordered the canning jar model though. I may try and see if I can neatly cut out a hole in a canning lid to just fit the diameter of the generator so that it could be inserted and just screwed onto top of canning jar. I agree with you about the heater lamp making a difference. I ordered and received it just recently and pleased with how well it does.
