Re: CS>reading archives
The sensitive teeth toothpaste is a nitrate of some sort that deposits a layer on the porous area of the tooth thereby blocking access to the nerve endings. I think CS does the same thing by filling the pores with particles...and protecting the pores from bacteria invasion. I've had very little problem with sensitive teeth since using CS as a mouthwash. Flouride works much the same way but damages the tooth in the process making it white and brittle in spots...and doesn't kill bacteria. Re: CS>reading archives
Hi Coyote, Lee I have just the one amalgum filling. I've not been to a dentist in over 15 years, when said filling was introduced against my wishes. For about the last 10 years, I've noticed the occasional twinge from the upper, right premolar. I used to take a very light pein hammer and tap tap tappedy tap the tooth for a few minutes. It eased the pain, I guess because it overloaded the nerve signals?...not sure. Anyway, I've been using CS from about May this year. I've only had to use the pein hammer once or twice since then and that was more force of habit than anything else. But the tooth in question, isn't the one with the filling, so perhaps CS has this 'sealing' function you describe, or maybe it's just killing off the bacteria (can't remember offhand which one causes dental caries) this is what causes the pain after all. [not] If anything, the silver will stabilize the mercury by hardening the amalgum. It may even attract enough silver to seal any leaks. I have many mercury fillings. The results have been entirely positive...enough so to illicit a comment from my dentist on every visit for 3 years and an accusation of using the prescription flouride. [not] If anything, the silver will stabilize the mercury by hardening the amalgum. It may even attract enough silver to seal any leaks.
