CS***Purity of .9999 silver/Hauser and Miller?
I had written Marshall last week and one of my questions was about the silver I bought in 1998 from an outifit then recommended on this list that I no longer see recommended here so I wondered if it was found that their silver was not really ok?? It was from Hauser and Miller. I am mercury toxic so this is really important to me, any other metals than silver. I did not get an answer from him so maybe those filters. I am on bushgreenwatch so I bet I am on some spy lists:)

Hauser and Miller are very reputable. I feel sure that if you got .999 or better you should be ok. If you wrote me directly and I did not resond, I apologize. Hi Marshall, Glad to hear it is good stuff, I have a long piece:). I did not think you ignored me, I frequently do not get answers to messages so assume they just fly away. I forgot to mention it has a tarnished look now, kind of coppery hue, what do we do with that?? It's still in the bag in came in Marshall Dudley mdud...@king-cart.com wrote: Hauser and Miller are very reputable. I feel sure that if you got .999 or better you should be ok.
Re: CS***Purity of .9999 silver/Hauser and Miller?
That would be silver sulfide. It is insoluble. I don't think it would be a problem to use as is, but it can be easily removed either abrasively, or by putting in an aluminum pan (or in a bowl with aluminum foil on the bottom) with hot water and baking soda added. The tarnish will disappear within a couple of minutes. Marshall Debbie Mcdonald wrote: Hi Marshall, Glad to hear it is good stuff, I have a long piece:).
