That would be silver sulfide. It is insoluble. I don't think it would be a problem to use as is, but it can be easily removed either abrasively, or by putting in an aluminum pan (or in a bowl with aluminum foil on the bottom) with hot water and baking soda added. The tarnish will disappear within a couple of minutes.
