Re: CSMare with Possible Melanomas in Mouth
Good Morning: Okay just got your message. I will be in Shrewsbury, PA on Friday around 9:30 - 10:00 AM (yes I drive over an hour to my vet because he is good) to take a few animals to the vet. That is close to the PA - Maryland border on 83 N. Don't know where you live? If close you could meet me there, if not.. I will wait then to hear how your beautiful girl is on the 12th. Good luck. She was lucky to find a good mom like you to take care of her. Weather here was awful. Glad we decided not to venture out on Monday. We didn't have any damage, just a little water. One daughter still without electric, another got water - another I don't know?? We were certainly more fortunate than most. If you ever get a chance, send me a picture of your lady. Re: CSMare with Possible Melanomas in Mouth
Dear JoAnne, You wrote: I am trying, also, to learn more about side effects. Before you abandon the field in confusion, please hear the answer to your question. Are side effects possible from silver products? Yes. One possible side effect is common to any treatment that can kill germs; the Jarisch Herxheimer reaction. Take somebody who's really sick, give them some treatment that kills a lot of germs really fast, the toxins from those dead germs get dumped into their system all at once and can kill them. That's how the doctors involved in the discovery of 'Herx' effect figured out what was happening -- they were accidentally killing off their syphilis patients using some of the first effective antibiotic treatments. Learning from their experience, we now know to start slow, ramp up the dose until symptoms just start, and manage them by modulating intake. Symptoms are usually described as flu-like, and are seldom serious. If you talk to people who've been fighting Lyme disease, you'll discover they rate the success of a treatment modality by whether they get a herx or not. They see it as a sign of progress. Obviously, in a veterinary context, you'll have to watch for signs of distress, monitor temperature and other vitals, etc., just as you do with any other treatment. The other main side effect, which is being discussed right now, is argyria. Argyria is a blue to grey discoloration of the skin or other organs caused by silver particles becoming trapped in the tissues. Upon exposure to sunlight, the color 'develops' much like it does in photographic film processes. The really celebrated cases, Rosemary Jacobs, the senate candidate from Montana a few year back, last year's blue man... all of these have in common using high concentration silver preparations, particularly featuring silver salts of one form or another. In Rosemary's case, it was very potent prescription nose drops she got back in the 1950's. The other two made their own CS using horrible methods taken to an extreme... Basically, use tap water or added salt to speed up the reaction, brew 'til you have a container full of murky gunk, and drink a bunch every day for a year or three. Commercial products have caused a number of cases; 'WaterOZ' which turned out to be high concentration silver citrate, I believe, and various mild silver protein preparations are on the list. The stuff most of us make is less than 20 ppm and contains silver ions and particles, water and, at most, negligible amounts of anything else. In order to consume enough total silver to get in the range of what is considered necessary to cause argyria would require a person to consume tens of gallons. You would also need to consume it fast enough to swamp the body's elimination channels in order for that amount to actually be retained. Here are some example numbers: Taking a pint per day would have you consuming more than 45 gallons in a year. At 20 ppm, that would be a bit over 3 and a half grams of silver. If all were retained, that might be enough to start you down the road to argyria. You'd only take anywhere near that much if you were fighting something pretty serious... Dave's case clearly falls in this general category. Taking a pint or two per day for a few days or weeks, isn't going to be enough. A swallow every other day is not going to do it either. If you decide to take substantial amounts for an extended period, supplemental selenium is a good idea to replenish the eliminative channels so your body can keep ahead of it. There are a number of reports of successful reversals of argyria using carefully designed aggressive supplement regimens, plus progress being reported on a laser-based treatment for directly reducing or eliminating the pigmentation in the skin. So there is even hope that wasn't there a few years ago. Now, JoAnne, you're patient is your mare. Is it safe to give her CS? At least one person here has said they've done it with good effect and no problems. That's probably as specific an answer as you're going to be able to find. Most of what we have to go on is direct experience of that sort, given that none of us have the money to sponsor extensive studies, and the people that do don't want the competition from something as cheap and easy as silver. For people, of course a cosmetically significant condition like argyria is a serious matter, even though it is not otherwise health- threatening. The disfigurement can have severe repercussions on quality of life, self esteem, employment, relationships... In your case, even in the worst case of severe argyria, however unlikely, you'll have to ask yourself if it would be an acceptable consequence if it helped you save your horse's life. Silver is a useful tool. Like any other, there are risks to go along with the strengths. As with everything we do with alternative health and medicine, it's a do-it-yourself project. We are

Re: CSMare with Possible Melanomas in Mouth
Hi JoAnne. Yes, Unfortunately Herx applies across the board, medical or altmed. If your horse is a hyped up there are two things I know of to calm. One is use of an ordinary Hulda Clark Zapper with electrodes placed across chest and/or neck. ( repeat reports from a lady who was working with her daughters distressed old race horse and tramping , Reiki alone hadn't seemed to help much.) The other is use of magnesium sublingual. For humans, a few drops of saturated solution of mag sulphate or mag chloride a few times a day. I have just recently read this on one of these boards and tried it once myself. I did a few grains of mag chloride under my tongue until they dissolved. bitter but not tooo bad; that dissolved within minutes and nothing happened. :-0 It is maybe worth a search. Don't know if is safe for horse (or humans) OK, Tony On 26 Jan 2010 at 15:29, oasisgr...@aol.com wrote about : Subject : Re: CSMare with Possible Melanomas and Mike, I'm familiar with Herx. PDQ Herbal. http://www.pdqherbals.com/ http://behealed.biz/2701.html http://www.altcancer.com/index.htm Treating Ca with Black Salve or Chickweed: When I was away in the city recently, I was given a lift a few times by a lady I shall call Kate. In conversation she mentioned a friend who had breast cancer, but who had wasted precious time being treated by a natural guy who turned out to be a charlatan. I asked whether this lady had tried herbs, or whether it might be worth researching black salve. Oh, Black Salve, said Kate, in a meaningful tone of voice. Yes, I said. Some women have even treated their own breast cancer with it. I did, said Kate. What? I did. It turned out that Kate had spent a lot of time in the sun on a boat in New Zealand in her youth, and in recent years suffered skin cancers on her face - basal cell, squamous cell, and even melanoma. She showed me the scars. The melanoma scar was on her neck, under the chin near her ear. She pointed to a scar on her temple. This one started bleeding, she said, and I ended up having to go to hospital. The roots were in the temporal artery. They kept asking me what I had been doing, but I didn't tell them. I just said I was under the care of a dermatologist. The breast cancer she treated just a few months ago, in March of this year (2009). She applied the black salve, a ring formed, and the cancer started to come out. She just applied it topically; she didn't do anything to get it to the lump. And yes, it was painful. While this was happening she fell and broke her leg in three places (she was still hobbling with a stick). The breast cancer was more painful than that. One day it came out, in all its tentacled glory, and she said it was moving even though it was out of her. I didn't have time to ask many questions, as we got to our destination, so I don't know whether the cancer pulsated or moved in some other way, but I hope to be able to ask her later on. I did ask if she minded me sharing this information. She was willing. She said that in future she wouldn't use black salve on the face because of the big scar it leaves, but she would use chick weed. (Jethro Kloss in Back to Eden says it is one of the best remedies for external application to ... skin diseases, tumors, cancer, and all kinds of wounds. http://middlepath.com.au/plant/Chickweed_Stellaria-media_Caryophyllaceae.php also lists chickweed as being used in treating cancer.) Here in Australia, however, one has to wait until winter before it grows. She says the action is quite different with the chickweed - I think she said it kind of oozes away (and stinks). She originally heard of black salve through someone who ordered it from America to treat cancer in a dog. She was able to source it locally, though that person no longer makes it. She said that prior to treating her breast cancer the armpit on the left side was always smelly. After the cancer came out it stopped being smelly. As if all that wasn't enough, she'd also had ovarian cancer. She'd had certain symptoms for some time, but the doctors didn't come up with anything. Then one day she saw a TV program, where women were told that if they had certain symptoms they should ask their doctor whether it might be ovarian cancer. She did so, and was given an ultrasound. She did have ovarian cancer. She told the doctor she only wanted the lump taken away, not any lymph glands, and didn't want radiation, chemo, or blood transfusion. The surgeon was very unpleasant, but the anaesthetist told her, I'm the person who keeps you alive, and I guarantee you won't be given anything you don't want. The lump was taken away. She found later that she had pain in three places on the same side. She applied the black salve to those places, and in time the pain went away. I can't remember whether she said there was any ooze. Later, she told a naturopath about it, and was told that those three places corresponded to the site of lymph glands. What a woman! When she visited her sister recently, her sister saw another skin cancer on her back near her spine. Black salve was applied, but it took so long to come away she wondered what was going on. Eventually it did come away, but with very long roots. She believes it had wound round her spine and that this was why it took so long. On that visit, she helped her sister treat a breast cancer the same way. So you see why I favour black salve. PDQ Herbal. http://www.pdqherbals.com/ http://behealed.biz/2701.html http://www.altcancer.com/index.htm Treating Ca with Black Salve or with Chickweed: When I was away in the city recently, I was given a lift a few times by a lady I shall call Kate. Re: CSMare with Possible Melanomas in Mouth
Hi JoAnne -- I see you made your way here!! :-) Welcome. Purchasing Colloidal Silver is extraordinarily expensive -- commonly running thirty or so dollars for 8 oz. It just isn't practical to buy it for treating horses. I would venture to guess that 99.9% of the people on this list make their own -- a very simple thing to do -- and once you have purchased your generator (a small counter-top device), your only other expense would be the price of a gallon of distilled water as needed. There are several good quality CS generators on the market. Mine is a Colloid Master from Synergenesis (www.wishgranted.com). Also, one of our list members makes and sells them -- Ode, are you here? Other list members may make other suggestions for generators they've been happy with. You can't go wrong with any of them. If you have any other questions, just ask -- it's what we're here for! (mostly) ;-) Mary Ann From: oasisgr...@aol.com oasisgr...@aol.com To: silver-list@eskimo.com Sent: Fri, January 22, 2010 10:31:56 AM Subject: Re: CSMare with Possible Melanomas in Mouth Thank you very much do you have a recommendation for purchase?
