Steve, it occurred to me last night to make one batch with plain
distilled vinegar for premise spraying. 'lights going off' lol. will
make the AC version for epidermal applications.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for the ah ha.

and thanks Renee for getting clarification on the fridge or not to
fridge method. in pm Bodh said picked fridge for 'cool and dark'
place. so closet would work just fine. going to make two
batches...one in sunlight, other in closet. will see if there is any
diff in effectiveness and report back.

thanks to all who responded. thanks Steve for saving us bunches of
money in making cheaper version for premise spraying.

2010-05-13 Thread Norton, Steve
You are basically making a tincture of the herbs using vinegar as the
extracting solvent and preservative. There is a lot of info on the web on
making tinctures. Usually you would use a distilled vinegar rather than one
with mother for tincturing and I see no value added using a vinegar with
mother. if you use distilled vinegar there is no need to refridgerate the
tincture as the vinegar will preserve it. If you plan to store the tincture for
many years I would make an alcohol tincture rather than a vinegar tincture.

As for the sun, I store the tincture in a cool dark place as is recommended for
tincturing. I would suggest that following proven tincturing methods will give
the best assurance of success.

'why refrigerate'.  our naturopath in Au says her recipe is to sun the
mixture 'using the warmth of the sun to aid extraction of the active
ingredients into the vinegar.  Once made, it doesn't need to be
refrigerated either.  It keeps for years and years at room
temperature.'

there are many variations on the web...sun, dark closet, fridge,
cupboard, steep for 3 days after the original refrigeration.  head

i wonder if you tried the sun method and found this to be more potent.

thanks for your reply. we like the 'idea' of using the mother vinegar
as an energy construct. it's simply what is in vibrational alignment
with one's chosen belief systems distilled would work better for you
bc it is in vibrational alignment with you.

'living' vinegar and all the aspects of it that i truly appreciate
would be in vibrational alignment with me.

I'll have to make some of this as well... ingredients all sound appropriate.
I just wonder, if this would also work on the mites that like to live right
under the skin. My poor dogs have been plagued with mites for 2 .5 yrs.
I've acquired Borax, and mixed it with 1% H2O2 and distilled water. Seems to
helping some and I probably should be treating them twice a day, which I've
started to do yesterday. It seems to have infested the genital areas and
inside of the thighs mainly, but I've seen them bite themselves on their top
paws and their lower backs.
I think they're grass mites.
Aldi

Combine ingredients in a Mason Jar (2qt, half the ingredients for a 1qt
mason jar of course) Use all dried and chopped ingredients.

 4tbsp Rosemary
 4tbsp Sage
 4tbsp Lavender
 4tbsp Wormwood
 4tbsp Peppermint
2 Quarts Braggs Organic Apple Cider Vinegar (With Mother)

Combine all of these ingredients in the jar, shake them up vigorously for
at
least 2-3 minutes then place in your refrigerator. This must stay in the
refrigerator for at last 2 weeks, and you should shake the mixture for at
least 1 minute each day. At the end of 2 weeks chop up enough fresh
garlic
to make 4 tablespoons and add this to the mixture. Store in the
refrigerator
for another 1-2 weeks, shaking each day as needed.

At the end of the 4 weeks strain out any chunks/particles from the mixture
to the point it is fine enough to spray in a spray bottle. I grade down my
straining from a screen, tea strainer, and finally a coffee filter. Add
the
contents back into the jar, then place 1 drop of Holy Water in the
mixture. You can go to any local abbey or church to get this, or make
your
own if you have a lot of faith. When you add the mixture to a small
sprayer,
I always drop in 1 clear quartz crystal with the mixture. Crystals
magnify
energy on the subtle realms, that means placed in a matrix of these
ingredients it magnifies all properties of these ingredients. This means
this mixture not only impacts insects physically, but energetically.
(Etheric) Store completed mixture in the refrigerator until ready to use!

Hi Rene,
Essential oils, basically, do not SPOIL, in the way that other oils do.  I have
mine for years now and they are just as potent as ever. They are not
really..OILS in the traditional sense and most are obtained through a
distillation process from seeds etc. .They are not mixed with any other
substance and are considered pure, undiluted essences.

Mine, as I said were bought while I worked in an Apotochary, who bought theirs
wholesale from a distributor, if I recall correctly...who is in New Jersey.
Extremely, potent stuff. I am amazed that one can still smell them if they are
in a bottle wrapped and capped tightly. Emanates right through the glass
jars. And they must be kept separately from the other oils as they will
overpower them all.

Like a nice salad dressing. The smell lasts about 10-20 minutes, then
goes away, but the film stays on you and this continues to repel bugs.

I just started my seasonal batch yesterday. My relatives come and pick

mixture. You can go to any local abbey or church to get this, or make your
own if you have a lot of faith. When you add the mixture to a small
sprayer,

I always drop in 1 clear quartz crystal with the mixture. Crystals magnify
energy on the subtle realms, that means placed in a matrix of these
ingredients it magnifies all properties of these ingredients. This means
this mixture not only impacts insects physically, but energetically.
(Etheric) Store completed mixture in the refrigerator until ready to use!

In terms of the herbs, I recommend only fresh dried and ground up
varieties,

it is very cheap, and a single pound will be enough for many many years of
making this stuff for friends and family. I order all of my herbs from
here: http://www.bulkherbstore.com/Herbs

Enjoy the best bug spray ever! None of the ingredients individually are
that

impressive to me, but combined - they are potent.

The garlic is strained out, so only the essence of it is there.

It won't kill you, unlike most of the commercial bug sprays. That
DEET your parents coated on your body was robbing you of good senses.

takes 1 full month to produce if you want the full effect. (now is the

4tbsp Rosemary

The cool thing is, it costs like $5 to make a huge batch. Test it
yourself, and see.. You can clear an entire camp with it. I tested it
for 2-3 years before giving out the recipe, and offering it for sale to
people. (With recipe included so they can make their own) One thing it
does, and I do not notice other products doing this, it sort of messes
up their Senses, they can't seem to narrow in on your frequency to
poke your skin. They become very confused, disoriented. We tested that
in some pretty seriously infested areas to verify this theory.

Garlic is good, I sometimes consume 6-12 cloves a day, it's very potent
parasite killer, also good against other unseen things. Back in the old
days, 1 clove would make me pretty sick, probably because I admit, I was
filled with parasites. These days? No limit to what I can consume
apparently.

Looking at the ingredients..and knowing their properties. im sold. :)

lil antedote.  Had some teenager friends of my son...who come around when they
werent feeling very well ..for what they think are potions and lotions. .  We
all know how conscientious teenagers can be about appearances, scents, etc.
Well, one had a very nasty cold that just wouldnt quit.  So he came by for some
help.

I have some pure essential oil of garlic. This stuff is so potent it must be
kept in a jar, within a jar, within a jar and then wrapped in plastic.  i
warned him, he would smell for days afterwards but he was desparate and
receptive.

Well, long story short.  He ended up throwing the clothes he wore away because
they stank, but his cold was cured in 2 days after just rubbing  a few drops on
his his skin.  Garlic is a gift of the gods. :)
