This is the normal practice for these type of fillings. You can't pack them in like amalgam and they don't hold their shape well until cured. If you consider removing the tooth, be sure that the oral surgeon uses adequate measures to remove the peridontal ligament and uses proper procedures to clean out the socket. Some people have problems after teeth extractions with infection due to improper methods done by dumb dentists who are in a hurry.(hope that there are no dentists on the forum) - Finding fabulous fares is fun. Re: CSTooth Pain
Pat, I had a very similar problem with a tooth a couple weeks ago. It got infected. The gum around it was inflamed and very swollen. It did not look good. I used hydrogen peroxide rinse and scraped around the gum with a dental stick 3 times a day. It gets down there and gets the infection out. You dilute the hydrogen peroxide. One third to two thirds water. Very effective. I also took the CS. I put the wild oregano oil on the area after the peroxide rinse. (very strong antibiotic properties). It was amazing how fast it cleared-up. I never did go to the dentist and it has been fine since. On that tooth, the gum is very recessed and the root is actually exposed. I also took a lot of vitamin C and other vitamins. Good luck. Re: CSTooth Pain
Well, I have to say, since antibiotic isn't fixing the pain, personally I do not see what good a root canal will do except possibly give you further ongoing problems and allow infection to develop later. Most dentists don't tell you that root canals can (and do) fail, at which point you are looking at tooth root surgery, which is no fun (I've had 3 of those--2 for failed root canals, and one to remove a damn steel post put in my first root-canal). I think they use titanium posts nowdays. As it was, because I could not tolerate the steel posts, all my root canals are not as strong as they should have been. If the tooth is anywhere that simply pulling it is possible, that is what I'd do. It will be what I do if I have more such problems, as I feel that my 7 root canalled teeth are simply foci of constant infection. sol Pat Lawrie wrote: I went to dentist after a broken amalgam filling and had it replaced with composit a month ago. this is my husband's case also- once they are gone, there is no longer a source of infection, and it finally heals. Greetings everyone - I posted this once before but will mention it again in case it was skimmed over, because I know how bad dental problems can be. Its what I would do first: dip a Q-tip into diluted dmso, then into tea tree oil and rub directly onto the affected area - repeat. Swish and hold EIS/CS in your mouth several times a day, then drink a little as well. Take mega doses of VitC - up to 10K units at at time until it produces the runs, then back off a bit, keep it up for a few days. Drink lots of water. This allowed both my 83 yr. old mother with a hugely swollen jaw and my hubby with an abscess forming under bridge work to completely avoid dental visits. they have not had any recurrence in the 6 months since. best, DByron -- The Silver List is a moderated forum for discussing Colloidal Silver.
