RE: CSScary stuff from the EPA

2008-08-26 Thread Ode Coyote

It has become so confusing and detailed that we can believe it says
things it doesn't.
Unfortunately, when even IT doesn't understand what it's saying, a few
details can get steam rollered.

At any rate EIS /CS falls into the cracks in the FDA sidewalk and they have
defined the parameters of their blind eye back in 1999 with :

Food and Drug Administration

21 CFR Part 310

[Docket No. 96N-0144]

AGENCY: Food and Drug Administration, HHS.

ACTION: Final rule [We are done looking, we don't want any part of this
mess to have to study, found no reason TO study it, have no way to fund a
study and there's no one big enough to tap for one that has violated any
rules to use for an excuse to do so, ZERO cases of harm in OUR
files.just keep it quiet and be careful, don't make us come down there
to wallow in grass roots any-more.]

. even turning blue isn't harmful.

Remember how DMSO went when the FDA banned it in 1963.
..didn't work. The grass roots grew all over their buttocks until the FDA
couldn't find their own hole.
All that did was stop research, didn't slow DMSO down one little bit...in
fact, made it proliferate.

 Ban lifted in 1967

and THAT was something you CAN'T make in your kitchen.

Steve's post led me to do a bit of research in this area. Have a look at
this:

I am beginning to feel lucky that all been doing is selling 7 silver
wire (presumably to be used in manufacturing jewelry).
This is really nothing to laugh about. Our government has become so large
and powerful that it can do whatever it wants.

Oooh!

Potentially affected equipment include but are
not limited to, washing machines containing electrodes that emit
silver, copper, or zinc ions and ion generators used in swimming pools
to kill algae and as an adjunct to the chlorination process.

There was a deal of correspondence on the group a few years back from and to
someone who was building a unit like this - I think it was for swimming
pools? And we were delighted when we heard of the washing machines with
built in silver generators!

The
notice clearly stated that if an article uses physical or mechanical
means to trap, destroy, repel, or mitigate any pest, it is considered
to be a device. In contrast, if the article incorporates a substance or
mixture of substances to prevent, destroy, repel, or mitigate any pest,
it is considered to be a pesticide. The articles covered by this notice are
ion generators that
incorporate a substance (e.g., silver or copper) in the form of an
electrode, and pass a current through the electrode to release ions of
that substance for the purpose of preventing, destroying, repelling, or
mitigating a pest (e.g., bacteria or algae). Because these items
incorporate a substance or substances that accomplish their pesticidal
function, such items are considered pesticides for purposes of FIFRA,
and must be registered prior to sale or distribution. So we are drinking
pesticide! Who knew?

Nice one, Government. Blazing the trail for other countries to follow suit.
