Re: CS>mercury and silver and gold "fillings"
I had my gold foils done at UCLA dental school. It took longer but was very reasonable. As I recall it was about 100 a tooth. At a dental school you just pay for the supplies. Because it was such an old process the head of the school came in to teach the class on my teeth and did all the work. So it was a great deal. - Original Message - From: "Dan Nave" To: Sent: Tuesday, May 31, 2005 7:42 AM Subject: Re: CS>mercury and silver and gold "fillings" A friend of mine is looking into knee surgery in Thailand for about $3,000 including airfare and 2 week four star hospital stay as opposed to over $25,000 here in the USA with a day or two max hospital stay. Maybe you-all in Australia could check out the feasibility of amalgam replacements in Thailand. Just pay it yourself and have a vacation in the bargain... Re: CS>mercury and silver and gold "fillings"
"So what's in gold fillings, I wonder - besides gold? I don't think there is a gold filling material, at least I have never heard of it, and have never seen it. Are you thinking of what they make crowns and caps out of? Quite possibly, actually, Marshall; the mercury is likely still affecting my brain. A friend of mine has been trying to get her amalgams removed through The System in Perth, Western Australia, and one of the problems that arose in dealing with establishment dentists in this regard (and there were many) had something to do with gold - but perhaps they were talking about "a gold tooth" - or then, again, maybe they were discussing gold foil fillings but I didn't know what they were called and wasn't paying enough attention at the time.
