Re: [Slackbuilds-users] My SlackBuilds in -current

2012-08-17 Thread B Kirkpatrick

Let's start over again on my SlackBuilds:

/misc/gramps-3.3.1, games/ltris-1.018 audio/puddletag-0.10.6
all build fine on -current.

system/krusader-2.3.0-beta1, desktop/wally-2.4.4 games/xye-0.12.0
require changes to build on -current. See attached files.

Thank you, Larry.

Bill

xye, wally, and krusader do build with the appropriate patch or associated link.

xye 0.12.0 and 0.12.1 both build with the gcc-4.7.patch

wally 2.4.4 builds with the extra linker to X11 with
-DCMAKE_EXE_LINKER_FLAGS=-lX11 during the cmake step. The
disable-popup patch from previous versions should be included with
wally. Kind of annoying getting a popup box during compile time.

krusader 2.3.0-beta1 builds with the krusader-2.4.0_beta1-gcc47.patch
patch. Found from

Nah, make a new thread - it's easier to follow.

 (1) I see from git that R is being removed (unmaintained). Well, qgis
(one of my packages) incorrectly lists R as a dependency in the
README. In fact qgis does not depend on R these days, so it would be
great to just edit the README to remove the reference to R. Thanks!

Done.

 (2) postgis (not one of my packages) doesn't build at the moment.
This is not a 13.37 problem -- the cause is the recent Postgresql 9
upgrade. Upgrading postgis to the latest version upstream (1.5.2) is
straightforward and solves the build problem.

Hrm, this one is not in our failure list, so it apparently built on

The easiest way to maintain scripts is to use a virtual machine (I use

be really quite stingy with the virtual machine's hardware and still
test your scripts.

I've run Slackware since 2003, including on very limited hardware. That's
why I stick with it. I ran Red Hat from 1997-2003 and got tired of the
dependency hell every time I'd try to upgrade a package. And I didn't want
to be on the bleeding edge.

Pierre (can't believe I mistyped my name in my last email!)

Time for sleep? :-) I wondered about the spelling but figured you know how
to spell your name.

Merci,

Rich
