[SLUG] Re: Multimedia in firefox
Hi James, One really good place to check you plug-ins is: www.junglewalk.com Loads of different video and sound about various creatures. My kids love it...okay, I LOVE IT :)) Generally I can get all media working on the sites you mention, with the exception of MSN. I'm running Dapper 6.06. My settings for Mplayer are: Nothing in 'Video Output' and 'Audio Output' a cache size of 512 and I have 'RealMedia Support', 'Helix Emulation', 'Play media directly...', Connect to RTSP...' and Use HTTP...' all unticked. Hope this helps. I'm happy to look at the config files of anything else that you're interested in. Weirdly, I reinstalled 6.06 on my desktop machine recently and have it on my laptop. I cannot access video at: www.smh.com.au on my desktop reinstall, but can with my laptop. Dunno what the problem is. Regards, Patrick jam [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon, 15 Oct 2007 09:01:01 +0800 Hi has anybody made the multimedia video work? BBC http://www.bbc.co.uk[works - mplayer 'open in a standalone player] NASA http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/highlights/index.html [stays blank] NINEMSN http://ninemsn.com.au/ [FOS in the extreeme! but if your browser report IE on Xp then mplayer plugin accepts but streams not] NEWYORKTIMES http://video.on.nytimes.com/ [perfect] Trying this on feisty with mplayer-plugins about:plugins shows realplayer and windows media (totem) but the whole area is still really not working for me James -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User's Group Mailing List - http://slug.org.au/ Subscription info and FAQs: http://slug.org.au/faq/mailinglists.html
[SLUG] Your IP moaned!
I don't know if this is old news, but I had my speakers turned up and my wife came crashing in to the room to find out what was going on. I'm pretty sure if I looked I'd have a nice big hand print across my forehead right now. [SLUG] Moving o/s' around
Hi list, I'd like to change my os of choice to Ubuntu again (long story) but retain the Winxp setup that I have by running it as a VMware image on Ubuntu. This would seem to be possible using a live linux CD, create an iso file of a Winxp installation/partition on another hard drive and then load it once Ubuntu has been installed. I'm long on concept but short on howto. Am I talking out of my hat? TIA. I think there are some scripts PV2VM to help with that On Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 11:22:15AM +1000, John wrote: Hi list, I'd like to change my os of choice to Ubuntu again (long story) but retain the Winxp setup that I have by running it as a VMware image on Ubuntu. RE: [SLUG] Moving o/s' around
You could always leave your Winxp installation on your HD, install Ubuntu and run your winxp (from your HD, not an image) via vmware/Ubuntu. This site explains howto do it: http://www.linux-mag.com/id/4150/ Shane. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of John Sent: Tuesday, 16 October 2007 11:22 AM To: SLUG list Subject: [SLUG] Moving o/s' around Hi list, I'd like to change my os of choice to Ubuntu again (long story) but retain the Winxp setup that I have by running it as a VMware image on Ubuntu.
