Re: [SLUG] petition for multi-platform etax software
Perhaps they should to the smart thing and remove the 'client' (program) and host it on a ssl site, which you can use with any good browser. It is just a 'fancy' program with export / import methods which uses SSLeay + ie isn't it ... ? 2009/7/17 Jeremy Visser jer...@visser.name: On Fri, 2009-07-17 at 06:29 +1000, Meryl wrote: When I rang the ATO Tech Helpdesk about obtaining CSI software for Linux I was told that their CSI software could only be used on secure operating systems like Windows and Apple. *choke!!!* Actually, they do have an obscurely-placed link on their website that has a tarball with some Linux version of the CSI software. http://csi.business.gov.au/CSI/FrequentlyAskedQuestions.asp#Can_I_use_the_CSI_with_an_unsupp http://csi.business.gov.au/CSI/CsiInstallForLinux.tar.gz Mind you, it's very poorly thrown together, and I've never successfully got it to run. 2009/7/14 Danny Yee da...@anatomy.usyd.edu.au There's an online petition at http://www.petitiononline.com/FreeEtax/ asking that the ATO produce cross-platform etax software. I just found the following Apple Users forum item about the subject: http://www.appleusers.org/news/where-is-e-tax-for-the-mac/ I suppose that joining efforts and coordinating with them should help improve results over doing things separately. It's possibly not too late to add a line or two, on the etax accessibility to this wiki: This wiki page enables collaborative development of a briefing paper based on the opinions, ideas, and community feedback received as part of the Government 2.0 Public Sphere event and process. The final briefing paper will inform the Australian government about Government 2.0 policy recommendations and opportunities. http://wiki.katelundy.com.au/PublicSphere2 Marghanita Dion wrote: I'm now down, thanks for this.
