[RCSE] Wanted: Used Slope plane to practise DSing

2000-07-03 Thread Guy \([EMAIL PROTECTED])

Would like something with a RG15 wing -- preferably carbon -- to practise
DSing. Don't care what it looks like, as long as it flies well. Prefer
something that is easier to repair :)

I guess that a renegade or similar would be perfect.

thanks
 Guy

Where can I get some real small servo wire for my aileron I tried some
24 gage ribbon wire from Radio Shack, (it had 4 wires and I just stripped of
the green wire) but it is just too big and wont fit down the aileron tunnel
The servo's I am using are Cirrus 10's. I just need the wire, not
extensions, no space for plugs either.

Yuo can get #29 wire from Cannon R/C. Their phone # is: 702-896-7203

I just recently got some myself. It *IS* pricey, at 60 cents per foot. But
when you want to save grams, or have a really tight space to fit, it's the
way to go. I'll take note that some servos under high load might have a bit
of a problem drawing high current using such small wire.

Re: [RCSE] hlg aileron push rods?

2000-07-03 Thread Jill Wiest and Rick Brown

Patrick,

We use .025 MW pushrods in the Advantage HL kit we sell. We do a 'z'
bend at the ruddervators and then use Dubro EZ connectors at the servos.
These small brass connectors have a hole thru for the rod and a screw
from the top to clamp the wire and a plastic push-on keeper on the
bottom side of the servo arm.
We replace the supplied screw with a 2-56 set screw. This does two
things it keeps the overall height to a minimum for this type of
connection and it allows you to get a good 'bite' on the .025 wire. The
supplied socket head cap screw will bottom out on the underside of the
head before it will clamp on the small dia, wire.
This provides very quick and easy adjustment. Do the final dial-in with
your sub-trims.

 Group,

I am building my Colibri 1m hlg. I am building it with ailerons and was
wondering if there is an alternative to the music wire push rods? Any good
ideas out there? The music wire push rods to me seem to be adequate, but I
suspect that they would be a pain to get adjusted right.

Thanks for any suggestions. Any online sources to purchase?

 Pat.

[RCSE] SkyBench Big Bird Kit!

2000-07-03 Thread Gerry Harrison

Gents,

 I have located a kit ( NIB
) for saleI think it is called a " Big Bird " and it is made by SkyBench
AeroTech. I had a look in the box and it is 3m and looks much like the " Bird of
Time " yet it is 100' not a 118". The wood looks great and the ribs and formers
are laser cut. Does anyone have an opinion on this kit and how it flew..I
checked the SkyBench website but this model is not present. Thanks
.
