[RCSE] Compiled Threads
Help! I left this server for a while, and have just come back...but... The last time I subscribed, all the threads were compacted into one big e-mail, and I've forgotten how to get the "compiled" version of these threads. (For me, this method of receiving things was wy easier.) Can somebody lend me a hand on how to do this? Thanks, Tom Mathis Overwhelmed in Omaha ;-) RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News. Send "subscribe" and "unsubscribe" requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: [RCSE] Futaba 8UAFS question
Well, I'm not in for making a profit off of resale myself (I have an SAE Heavy Lift aircraft and a Rosenthal Ventus to worry about), but I think I got the price about right. Here's the scoop (think Canadian): $358.45 original bill, TX, RX, stupid non-JR compatable charger $335.00 sans government contribution $320.00 after losing the charger $195.05 dropping the $124.95 Hitec RX/crystal --- $130.03 converting to Yankeebucks (feels better going THAT way) Talk to PMS Hobbycraft here in Calgary if you don't believe me. And no, that's not a mistype on the name. Needless to say, they have trouble selling their hats. The best thing that anyone could do if they want A Futaba 8 is to lose that dumb little square reciever. When they came out they were nice and compact, but the little Hitec I have (can't think of the model) retails for a good $100cdn less, and I can't tell a difference in performance. There is no explicit "save" function on the JR8103. [RCSE] SAVING JR inputs.
I find no reference how to SAVE the programming on the 8103 in either the JR manual or Sherman Knight's material. How is this done? RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News. Send "subscribe" and "unsubscribe" requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Re: [RCSE] Futaba 8UAFS question
$130? Are you sure? At that rate, you could surely sell them for a profit. I don't think the 4 servos, battery and reciever add up to even close to the $230+ it would take to equal the usual full price of ~$360. Buy some more, or better yet, tell me where you got them! [RCSE] Seattle's August 19th HLG Contest Results
Hello, Are we lucky or what? Despite threatening clouds and early morning sprinkles, not a single raindrop fell on the 4th HLG contest of the year! However, the dark skies and a special wedding (good luck Brent!) kept the number of participants down to 10. Despite that, the competition was fierce, with a new face at the top of the heap once the dust settled. Weather was definitely a factor, there was a decent breeze from the south, which keep the thermals small and turbulent and moving quickly down the field. The longer tasks were tough, particularly with a no fly zone to the north of the field. However, with most folks flying modern, low cambered planes, we only had one of field landing! Discus launched planes took the top two spots, with new comer to HLG Paul McKee taking first with his Uplink 58 (its only his second HLG contest!). Close behind in 2nd was Dick Barker, the Uplink's designer. A little further back in 3rd was Jim Pearson with the next 4 places behind him all within 100 points(that's about 1.5% difference)! See the final results below... All the participants received door prizes from Thermal-Gromit Works (http://www.tgworks.com), with Lauren Anstead coming away with a 110mAh Ready-to-go NiCad flight battery and Tim Johnson with a new Thermal-Gromit Works hat! Thanks to all the participants for a great day of flying and timing. Finally, I like to invite anyone and everyone to the final contest of the year, September 23rd. Flying starts at 9am at 60-Acres Park in Redmond (click: www.redata.com/sass/hlg_00.htm for details). Also, start thinking about a trip to Seattle in 2001, the Seattle Area Soaring Society will be sponsoring a BIG 2 day HLG contest in mid-August. [RCSE] CSS 21st Annual Great Pumpkin Fly
The Cincinnati Soaring Society's 21st Annual Great Pumpkin Fly will be held on October 14 & 15, 2000 at the club's flying field located at The Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Our field is located 0.3 miles north of I-275 on Montgomery Rd. See the Maps for directions and locations. We will be flying two classes, in a man-on-man format, at this year's contest; UNL and "low-tech open-bay RES. UNL class is self-explanatory. Low-tech open-bay RES will be defined as rudder, elevator and spoiler with fixed trailing edge with film covered (not sheeted) wings. The objective of this class is to allow all flyers compete with a readily available technology. The intent of these two classifications is to have the carbon, glass, spectra, molded, hi-tech ships to compete in the UNL class; and the balsa and film to compete against each other. We would encourage all flyers to use the honor system in deciding which class their ship falls into. Please understand the spirit of the low-tech open-bay RES class. We will be flying 360 degrees on our field with precautions taken for the safety of the surrounding property. Those of you have flown from our field in the past should enjoy the additional air space. Lunch will be brought in. At our Memorial Contest in May everyone decided on pizza and it went over quite well. Drinks will be available. UNL will be flown on Saturday and "Low-tech, Open-bay, RES" will be flown on Sunday. Trophies will be awarded to Fifth Place with an overall 2-day high point trophy. The tasks will be determined just prior to the contest depending on the conditions. One of our goals is to get in as much airtime as possible. Pilots meeting will be promptly at 9:30 am EDT with the contest starting at 10:00am EDT. We will aim for the Sunday contest to conclude by 3:00 EDT for those who may have a long drive ahead of them.
