[RCSE] Bugs at the SVSS Field

2000-08-29 Thread Jim Thomas

Gents,
Rick Bothell is partly correct. During the spring and early summer we
get "Noseeums", nasty little bastards. They die off when it gets hot
and don't return until the next season. The contest he attended was in
bug season. They are now long gone. Do bring sunscreen.

I'll be there in shorts and sandals for all 3.5 days, (unless we get
some cold weather).

Re: [RCSE] Multiplex Twist

I have a NIB Multiplex Twist that I am about to put together. Does anybody
have any experiences with this glider (either building, trimming, or flying)
that they would like to share? Any tips/tricks?

I have one I love. Its a terrific travel plane. It will fly in most
conditions. In my experience the setting as suggested by Multiplex are very
close. The only problem I had with mine was the stab carry tubes. They
didn't have enough glue on them for my taste. I pulled them all out a little
too easily and reglued them. However, I am the only person I have ever
talked to that has had this problem. The plane must be flown fairly fast.
Take the time to set up camber changing, really makes the plane come alive.

Which is normally correct for August. Unfortunately, we have an oddball
weather front moving in. It actually sprinkled a bit this afternoon.
Forecast for the weekend is partly cloudy, highs in the 70's, good chance
of showers Friday, possible thunder showers Saturday. Weird...

I'll second that. Haven't been bothered by bugs out there since June.

RE: [RCSE] 3R's Delivery Time

2000-08-29 Thread Tony Rogers

Well then my three weeks sans reply isn't so bad. I was concerned at first,
but the card didn't get charged for stuff like carbon fiber or Multiplex
gear (video not even charged yet), so I guess it's all on the up and
up--just in very light lift ...

Does Krick (sp?) model company still exist? They used to have a large
built-up training glider similar to SG-38 with open truss fuselage. Nice
kits. I think possibly German manufacturer. Any leads?

Thanks,
