[RCSE] Flames, etc.
OK, I'll step in iter - give an opinion that is. The text in the NSP ad sounds very like NSP's copy. I read some other copy and it has a similar cadence and vocabulary. Pictures are the same. No, not really necessary. Keep it stock and you'll be happy with it.
Re: [RCSE] A Case of reading and understanding.
I, and I think Gordy, was referring to the 60's meaning and not the plane. I have a Red Herring and really like it. Especially as a small close in slope plane. It turns on a dime. ... Re: [RCSE] Not ordered, no instructions..
Gosh, I hate to use other's words from rcse, but the facts remains the same, you can copy but customer service and integrity are original elements to some vendors an a vague after thought to others. From RCSE I just received the Jok'Air kit I ordered from NE Sailplane. It's a rather interesting trainer and one that can easily be traveled with. Just one problem is the instructions are in French. Now, that's not a problem if you speak and understand French but being a rather ordinary sort of guy I never learned French. I was surprised that no one thought it might be a good idea to have English instructions if you are selling in the US market but what do I know. NESP did say they hope to get the English instructions on their web site someday but no one seemed to know when that would be.

They were taken my Marcela Leal, who I believe is the girlfriend of Deiter (from Shredair). At 09:05 PM 7/7/01 EDT, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: OK, I'll step in iter - give an opinion that is. Dearest Sal, What in the HELL were you thinking? Re: [RCSE] JR R700 rx
JR does have one double-conversion rx, the R940 D/C (stands for double conversion -- costs 200 bux). The rest of them have some AGC circuitry and extra filtering which make the rx perform well in every respect except image rejection. Image rejection doesn't matter on 72 mhz because there's nothing transmitting on the image frequency, except for ch 11 (I think it's 11), so they don't supply their single-conversion rxs with that crystal; but on 6 meters you never know what might be on the image frequency, so you gotta go with double conversion. --- Tom Watson [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: The Horizon catalog doesn't have many details on the 700, but I believe JR stuff is single-conversion with their proprietary filtering system, which supposedly yields dual-conversion like performance. This has not, however, been my experience (at least on the channels I fly). Your mileage may vary. [RCSE] Flames and photos
Come on! Surely there are more important topics for this forum than comparisons of presentations on vendor's web sites. It's hard to believe that a serious post like Joe Wurts' documentation of his effort to produce a competitive F3B design drew less comment than the I think somebody's copying commercials issue. Let's get back to more substantial issues like the resurgence of cruciform tails, the appearance of some really fine built-up RES kits, and the currently popular should F3J towers be allowed to eat steak? Re: [RCSE] Flamers, a new twist...
You are absolutely correct! There are pictures that are the same as on Deiters website. Unfortunately when I took over the exclusive distribution of the Brisk 2 I asked for pictures and was given via e-mail copies of a pics and setup. My website guy just did the page for me. Please tell me what is Deiters and I will be glad to take these off the site. My apologies. Since we are the exclusive worldwide distributor of all the Brisk products, I also ask Deiter to remove these form his website. Does Deiter mention this to his customers when they call up for the Brisk? Scott Hewett wrote: As many of you know, Flame Wars break out on a regular basis here on RCSE. Brett For the record: Marcela Leal (who took the pictures), myself, and ShredAir are in no way associated with Northeast Sailplane Products (NSP), mainly because we obviously will never attain NSP's level of ethics, professionalism, and expertise. [RCSE] making plugs
K, so here's the deal. just a couple of weeks ago i got a wood lathe, and thought to myself, the best way to try it out would be to make my first 60 sloper plug, to experiment and try making my own fuses. i had to think of a way to make sure the thing was level so i made a little jig, it was a square piece of plastic to which i glued a protractor upside down, and hung a string from the mid point. then i glued on a weight. I laminated two (different colored, white/greenish) ! x 2 x 3' blocks together. i don't know how well this drawing will turn out but here goes. bare with me. __A___ |+ +| |P * P| || | | R S R | | O TO | | TR T | |R I R| | A NA | | C G C| | TOR|ROT| || | | NUT | |B___| AB parallel i put the block in, checked to make sure that on one side it was exactly 90 deg to the floor, then lathed it. when done, i went to the same side and put a .25 x .25 x 8. i 'shimmied' it until my little gauge read the right degree. then filleted it, etc. my question is... does anybody have a better, more precise way of setting your attack angle on a round piece of wood?
