[RCSE] Ham band advice sought
I was into RC long before I knew anything about Amateur radio. Then I worked up to my General class ticket while we were working in the Carribbean. We used Ham radio for our only means of personal communication. (all hf) Now I've been back into RC for about 2 years, and I'm wanting to buy a "better" radio. I hear that RX selection is not as good if you're on the Ham bands, and resale may be more difficult, but my question is this: "Are ham band RC rigs less likely to be interfered?" Surely I needn't worry about the kid flying the park flyer in his backyard? Or the Lone Ranger that doesn't want to join the guys at the flying field and flys wherever he wants etc etc. Whatdya think? Have you guys experienced the 53 MHz band being "better" than the 50MHz? I'm looking at a new old stock Stylus on 50.96. Is Ham band stuff higher priced? I would very much appreciate any and all comments/advice etc 73s Bill, N0ZXO (was N0ZXO/HH5) RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News. I was also unable to fly on that frequency at Visalia one year because off what appeared to be off site interference. I now have a radio on channel 05 and have had no problems although I don't fly that one too often. Wish I could get a Cockpit or Eclipse on 50 MHz. [RCSE] 8103 Programming?
I'm posting this for a friend who just picked up a Surprise11 and needs some assistance programming his JR 8103. I'm not familiar enough with the 8103 to help him out much, and he really wants to do some test flights this weekend, so any assistance would be greatly appreciated... Here's what's desired: Rx Ch5 used for on/off motor control 2 servo Aileron setup operated via the Right Tx stick (normal) and w/ Ailerons also used as Spoilers using the Tx Throttle Stick 1 servo Elevator activated in the normal manner (This one's no problem) The Ailerons are normally setup using Rx 1 & 5 however, if he does this he will not be able to use Ch5 (on/off) for his motor control. Re: [RCSE] Devaluing landings

IMHO, the Nats landing task is a fair, yet challenging task, especially if done without skegs and/or sharks teeth. Re: [RCSE] Let's just fly!!!/Devaluing Landings
I really didn't mean to stir up such a can of worms. I have been called a whiner and a few other names but you have to admit, if things don't get shaken up occasionally, we get bored with what we are doing. "Practice landings and quit whining!" I was told. I can land. I'm still a bit rusty after my 21 year absense, but I've still got it! My point was that even though the models have changed significantly in that time, the task is the same! Keep it up 10 and LAND it! RE: [RCSE] Ham band advice sought
I love mine, I'm on channel 09 and have never had a channel conflict. As you know the only real problem is getting Rx's for 50mhz, I use Berg6's and they work fine for me. -Original Message- From: billmoxon [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, February 08, 2002 8:29 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [RCSE] Ham band advice sought I was into RC long before I knew anything about Amateur radio. [RCSE] Stratos For Sale
I have a good condition Stratos for sale. The plane currently has Volz in the nose and MPX Super FL's on the ailerons. The flap servos have been removed. Price is $450 w/o servos and $650 with servos. I have a few cheezy photos available. The plane isn't perfect, I'd rate it 8.5-9 out of 10 but it's less than 1/2 of what a new one costs! It would make a great practice plane, excellent sloper or a good start into molded planes. Email me off line for details. gv RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News.
