Re: [RCSE] Any good Sunglasses ?
For North Americans wearing prescription glasses, the easiest is to go to Wall Mart and buy the ones they carry for wearing over prescription glasses. They are called something like Wear Over and come with grey or brown lenses, are polarized and come in several sizes to match your head and glasses. [RCSE] Spoileroms or flaperons
One problem with flaperons is that with them in flap position you get aileron reversal - on my DAW S1-26 HLG I solved that with flying only RE(S) during landings! Tord RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News. Send subscribe and unsubscribe requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Re: [RCSE] Any good Sunglasses ?
I use an amber safety type for when it is overcast, works very well to bring out the contrast. But for normal sunny days I just use a $10 pair that I picked up at a discount store. Make sure they filter 100% UV. Color of lens seem to make a difference in visibility. And as you can tell it seems like personal preference as to the posts. I have also used polarized glasses and like them very much, seem to cut out some of the haze. However none were on sale when I was looking last time. Fishing glasses, which are polarized, have worked well for me in the past and you can usually get those for under $10. The cheaper ones do seem to scratch easier, but if you are easy on them I expect to get close to 2-3 years on them before I lose them or break them. (Except my fishing ones just plain wore out.) This thing was huge and beautiful, 41,000 rivet heads modeled onto it. I don't think it had been flown previously, and he only flew it once all day Saturday. Didn't get the builder's name memorized. No, he didn't smash it up. If flew very nicely, but lost a wheel on landing, with no damage to the model luckily. Beautiful planform in the air. Clean, simple lines. It crossed my mind that the DeHavilland Swallow would make a very nice PSS sloper, maybe even a foamy. RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News. Re: [RCSE] Any good Sunglasses ?
I use perscription glasses. I've had the Drivers and loved them, other than the price. I debated strongly over them and Suntiger. I ended up with the Suntigers. They are lighter (physically) and have lots going for them. It took some time getting used to them as they are polarized. I have to take them off to program a radio since you can't see the digital images. As to whether I'd buy them again, I'm not sure. I really did like my Drivers, but I enjoy the polarization when fly fishing (which isn't often lately!) gv yet_another_51 wrote: Hi, This is my first post here ... and its about sunglasses. Re: [RCSE] Any good Sunglasses ?
Serengeti Drivers are superb. They enhance contrast without changing relative color. Mine are photosensitive and change from a medium tint to a dark. Corning developed the contrast-enhancing color for NASA. Of course like anything top-notch they aren't cheap! -- Greg Smith Slope Soaring Resource http://www.slopeflyer.com From: yet_another_51 [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Tue, 27 Aug 2002 14:15:13 - To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [RCSE] Any good Sunglasses ? [RCSE] WTB: Image Stabs...
Of course, this is how it always goes. 3 days before the last contest of the season (ie, this weekend), a practice session ends in disaster. (Well, actually, since it was the first flight, I guess you could say it started with disaster also!) Long story short, I'm now in the market for a replacement stabs (with pins) for a Maple Leaf 2-M Image. If anyone has a broken Image but good stabs (and I DO feel sorry for you for the broken Image) and you want to sell them, drop me a line with your price. Yes, yes, I'm going to contact Maple Leaf also, but thought I'd search out on the net first. Luckily, one of my cohorts hasn't assembled his Image completely yet, so he's loaning me his set for the weekend (and a bottle of wine or something). On a better note...I've always *wanted* to try that how do you bring down a plane with no stabs routine, and can now say I have done it, flying my Image down from about 200 feet, inverted, no stabs, but *lots* of flap Landed like it was made to fly that way! Just be careful with the turns, like in if you can avoid turning, you'll be a lot better off! e-mail direct, if you please. (I feel a story coming on about this one!)
