RE: [RCSE] Any good sunglasses..??

2002-08-28 Thread Douglas, Brent

I have to say (fwiw) that I've had much better luck with lighter, also
Used to use some dark generics, but I had (and I'm fairly young) trouble
keeping an eye on my plane. I've switched to some wrap around Oakley's with
brownish lenses, not too dark - helps a ton.

I think it also shows me lift*, but I don't want to troll... . : )

brent

* of course, I avoid THAT stuff like the plague...

[RCSE] Hitec RCD : Hi quality service

2002-08-28 Thread Louis Cimon

Hi,

I want to let you know my great satisfaction
toward Hitec RCD service.

I sent RCD for repair one of my 555 receiver that
I bought at least a year ago (I dont remember how
long ago I bought this particular 555).

I just received my 555 receiver RCD kindly
repaired free of charge even if I told themu it
was not on garantee.

I greatly appreciate the very high quality of RCD
service. I cannot do otherwise than recommend
their products to my friends and I will prefer
buying again their products without hesitation.

I am in no way connected to RCD.

2002-08-28 Thread James Vaello

I agree on the wrap around Oakleys. I prefer the VR28 color that they have
available in almost all of their lines of glasses. Try them, you might just
like them as well.

James

Pricing aside, for TD Competitions in 10 to 15 mph winds, which one... a
Stratos XL Xtail or an Escape?

'Both' would be nice but... ;-)

2002-08-28 Thread DENDKN
The Stratos SL (V-tail) is the best with winds from 0 to 35 mph where I have seen it dominate. Of course some contest expert flyers can win with anything, even an old boyfriend's reject (Barbara Henon)or a fomie (Joe). Some of us can manage to lose flying Stratos SLs too.

[RCSE] DH Swallow

2002-08-28 Thread Tord

Not precisely a supersonic aircraft as it crashed every time
it came close to Mach 1, due to bad understanding of the
physics involved. Eric Brown calls it one of the most dangerous
aircraft he ever flew (over 350 different makes and models,
not counting variants), but not as bad as the GAL glider -
another swept-wing flying wing aircraft!

First Swallow had a subsonic wing of wood, the later version had a more
advanced wing. This latter version killed many, including Geoffrey de
Havilland himself, during an attempt to go supersonic!

One of few aircraft with a better reputation than it deserves!
