[RCSE] Slope Soaring in Spokane...
Your best bet would be to check with members of the IESS (Inland Empire Soaring Society) http://www.inlandempiresoaring.org/ and see if anyone is familiar with the location you've found. Chances are they have considered it at some point. (It may even be one of their known spots.) Check the web site and you can get more contact information. And as for when the soaring season beginsit starts this weekendat least for the NorthWest Soaring Society, with the 'Tune-up' event up in Mission, BC. See the NWSS web site for more information ( http://www.aracnet.com/~eastwind/nwss/ ). On a more local note, the first contest in the Spokane area would be the Orrin-Crooks Memorial soaring competition down in Lewiston, ID (about 100 miles from Spokane) May 13/14, then the Ed Huffman Soaring Classic at Farragut State Park (by Athol, ID ... about 30-40 miles north Coeur d'Aleneprobably about a 45 minute drive for you, I would guess. That's over the Memorial Day weekend. Fly for a couple days, then go camping...if you can find a spot! -Les -NWSS RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News. [RCSE] Re: F3F in Scotland
In message [EMAIL PROTECTED], Ron Russell [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes In message [EMAIL PROTECTED], Ron Russell [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes Just a wee reminder that Fife Soarers will be holding an F3f event next SATURDAY 22/04/06 possibly at East Lomond, 9.30 for 10.00 start. We are hoping to be flying on BISHOP HILL instead of East Lomond, weather and wind dependant. Meet at East Lomond car park as per normal. Please be at the meeting place sharp so that decisions can be made for the event venue. This will be an assist for the Team selector for the forthcoming Viking Race so please be there. Double entries are allowed so anyone wanting to fly 60 as well as, or just try a different model can. Do not think there will be any objections. Please pass this on to any I may have missed and give me a reply or 'phone call to verify your entry. 01592 753689. -- Ron Russell RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News. [RCSE] DARTS Aerotow, Muncie, April 22-23
The DARTS are holding their annual Aerotow this weekend at AMA Headquarters in Muncie, Indiana. This is a two day sanctioned event, and it's always a great time. We usually have a couple large towplanes and skilled tug pilots, so bring out that scale project you've been working on and have a ball. The AMA field has a large runway, plenty of grass, and a world of sky to fly. Should be a good warmup for those of you that plan on flying the scale XC event at this year's Nats; if nothing else, there are always impressive ships to see. Contact me or Paul Siegel, CD, with any questions Hope you can make it, Brent www.daytonsoaring.org RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News. If your supplier will not trade your motor for one with the needed shaft size, you may be able to solve the problem by buying a new/remfr armature (with the right shaft size). We obtained a quantity of those a few years ago thru a local auto starter/alternator service/rebuild shop for about $45 ea to support maintenance of club ESL winches. Good Lift! [RCSE] Midsouth Motel info!!!! Wait and Wail!!!!
We are happy to announce that we finally have a hotel lined up for the Mid-South Soaring Championship. We have an agreement with the Best Western Brownsboro Inn for $59 a night during the Mid-South. This Best Western Inn is located at the intersection of I-264 (Watterson X-Way) and US-42(Brownsboro Rd). I-264 is the inner X-way belt in Louisville. The contest site is just outside the outer X-way belt I-641. US 42 runs direct to the within a block of the contest entrance so contest access will be very easy. Contact the Inn direct at 502-893-2551 and tell them the discount word “Mid-South”. This is required to get your discount. The discount rate starts June 29 for early arrivals and carries through July 2. Gordy I'm on the beach in Mexico and you aren't :-)

Trying to find out if anyone will be at your field this Saturday and if guests are allowed. I also understand that altitude limitations. I have a friend from the Valley and we want to meet halfway between there and south OC. El Dorado sounded like a natural. Any feedback on the current status of the field is appreciated.
