[RCSE] FS: Multiplex FL BB servos

2006-08-10 Thread R/C Soaring Webmaster

For Sale:

4 Multiplex FL BB wing servos - they are used and got a little scratched up
when I extracted them out of a wing.

They all work fine, but I am selling them as I recently replaced them with
new digital servos. Leads are cut off, but I can solder some back on if
buyer prefers.

$20 each (originally $60+), includes shipping to upper ;) 48 states

Thanks for the bandwidth,

Joe

[RCSE] Ballast and second solenoid question

2006-08-10 Thread Harold Jackson
Well, guys, I've been lurking for a while and now I have a couple of
questions.

I got one of the Nats winches. Sometime ago I saw an article (I think)
in MA about the safety of installing a second solenoid in a winch. If
you have ever seen a 3 meter ship pulled through a turnaround, you would
not question the wisdom of adding a second solenoid and an emergency
power disconnect. My first question is where did I see the article?

My second question is can anyone give me a suggestion for lead shot or a
good substitute.

[RCSE] "Supra's Were Super, Perfects Perfect and the Icon is Still an icon:-)"

2006-08-10 Thread GordySoar

Looks like from the reports I got off the World F3J field showed that the
new planes didn't disappoint.  All performed as hoped, maybe the sleeper
was the Espada, a sleeper because it was introduced here kind of late and is
unique in the group.

The count on Supras at the Worlds was roughly 28 in attendance. That must
be close to match the domination count of Superiors and Sharons last year.
For those of you stuck with IconsJW pulled his out of the quiver to
rage back from the depths (okay not exactly 'depths') to pull into second place
in the last flights

One thing that I learned about F3J last season at my feeble attempts to do
just that by flying some of it...is that strategy is a capitalized word in
F3J.  Chosing the right tool for the conditions, place position and
confidence is sooo much what makes those top guys in F3J ..well top guys.

JW is a strategy kind of guy and it really showed this year.  I saw
him in action last year at Calgary when he got chosen for a fly off in evening
air...he chose the complete opposite in sailplane choice, line and time on line
than the othersthe result?  The other pilots who had launched in that
flight came down, went to dinner, took a shower and came back to watch JW finish
off the maybe the slowest passing of time flight I had ever witnessed.

Most of us think that F3J is just a dumb way to get a sailplane up in the
air :-) But in fact it involves so much more than the launch system...especially
the team score aspect.

This year, our seniors put their own performances in second place to our
Juniors, they may not admit that but the results show it.  You can't be in
that top 3 unless you have clear,
focus 'd concentration on your own tasks. You can't be thinking about
your job, family, house, rules, lines, setup, etc. You have to be totally in
the moment.  It's that state of mind that has separated the top finisher's
performances at every event  Top 'finishers' -- from the top
pilots on the field that day.

I think that JW came as close to doing both this year. He mentored,
assisted, and performed at a that world class level.

Of course it was his planes that got him the scores :-)

So which plane will you be campaigning at the up coming contests?

Me? I'm SupraSuperiorGiantSharonPerfect...hopefully one of those will carry
me to greatness, cuz I am definitely distracted this season:-)

Hi Pat

You will find a short review on Pierre Rondel's site< http://planet-

good sailplanes.

Mould quality and production quality are excellent in keeping with
Composite Models normal standards [which means pretty high].

Our Website was down for a time last night, but is back up now. For those
interested in attending the October 7&8 Fall Fest you may download a copy of
the entry form at cvrcsoaring.com. We have opened up the contest to additional
classes. You may also use PayPal for the initial class, but I do not believe
the PayPal is set up for the $36 for each additional class. Just use snail mail
if it does not. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the contest.
