[RCSE] RE: Hinge Tape
The 3M company produce a 1 flexible/waterproof plastic tape called BLENDERM. I have an ancient Jouster that has the ailerons and flaps hinged with it. No failures for over 10 years. I beleive that one of the major model supply companies sells it under their own name and packaging for park flyers but if you open it up the inside label reads 3M/ Blenderm. There is a textured version produced by another firm that is not good for our purposes. I will have a new Jouster Mk1 and a Easy/LTS this summer and they will be hinged with Blenderm. [RCSE] Frankfort Kentucky Slope DS'ing Video, Flat Backside (the slope on Bruce D's)
_http://nex12go.blogspot.com/_ (http://nex12go.blogspot.com/) Hi guys, Our own super talented camera buff and TD pilot, Tony Utley has posted a short video clip of our DS slope in Frankfort Kentucky. Its an unusual DS site in my experience because the backside is a farm field with almost no decline to it at all, but gradually drops to about 50' below the slope edge grade about a block or so back. The zone moves from right to left and back as Slermals approach the hill and at about 2/3rds of the way into the video you can see the speed has dropped to about half what it started at, then picks back up...a big slermal will suck all the energy way from the back side and the plane will virtually come to a near stop from entering at full speed, making the pilot have to push hard to make it back out over the front edge. The plane is one of the best 'sport' DS ships I've seen around, the Pike WR Carbon. Very clean and very honest in its tracking for a Vtail..and strong too. Extremely energy efficient. The pilot? World Class DLG guy, Louisville's own, Bruce Davidson! Take a look, this DS zone is really a lot of fun for DS foamie combat, since its over a flat tall grass backside...and easy for even a newbie DS'r to work. Take a look, and thanks Tony! [RCSE] Supra and Blaster II templates
I received my Supra and Blaster II flap and aileron templates from Barry Kennedy yesterday. They are very well done, fit perfectly and provide information on alignment that cannot be derived easily. All you Supra and Blaster II owners should immediately order your set before the supply is exhausted. I know it makes a great difference to the Supra and I look forward to using it on the Blaster II (temporarily disasembled for a trip to Florida). Thanks Barry. That's amazing. How did you guys even find that spot? [RCSE] Mortgage rates resetting?
I know this is nothing to do with Sailplanes... well in a way a little bit. If you have an adjustable mortgage that is about to reset and the bank is advising (read scaring) you to convert to a fix, be careful. All the resets I know are resetting at LOWER rates than what you currently have. And the rates you will be locking in are higher. By the time you add on fees to convert you are harming yourself financially. If I had an ajustable rate, I would keep it cause I dont see interests going up any time within the next 1-2 years Just a heads up. this could svae you money and you can spend it on your favorite hobby :). I know citi bank is notorious for this unethical practice. You are welcome to email me for more info and proof. Tuan No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG. [RCSE] Just Got My New TD Ship in the Mail Today!
Just got home from soaring some in Tullahoma TN yesterday morning, and it being already about 5 oclock, I was slipping into soaring withdrawals when my Catahoula started barking her UPS bark. Sure enough, like a message from the soaring godsit was the new ship I'd been waiting for a few months to get. Can't wait to get started on it! Full house fully molded, but some assembly required as with most today. Its all white, so I'll have to add some color to it as usual. Totally 2.4 friendly fuse, so I'll be installing a Spektrum system in it likely. How about you guys? Any new planes arrive, or on their way for this season? [RCSE] Supras For Sale
Hi All-- I have a buddy that has two new and unbuilt Supras for sale. Both are white with blue trim and one has red bottoms. These are Supra #253 and Supra #336. Either or both can be yours for the best reasonable offer. Reply to this email or call me at (909)367-6179 for more info. Thanks for your time. Dan
[RCSE] Supras For Sale...some added info
Hi Guys, I happen to know that those numbers put them at around July or August of 07, they have all the updates inside the wing that exist today, so they are about as current as you can actually get. The 80# separation isn't that significant, as it is possible to get that even today if it were a color that wasn't ordered when that 253 group shipment first arrived. They would of course have carbon fuse pods...in case you were looking for 2.4 friendly. (doesn't really matter anymore since Mr. Barker figured out how to install 2.4 in carbon nose cone ships). Might help you make your decisions. Gordy In a message dated 3/28/2008 5:29:59 P.M. RE: [RCSE] Just Got My New TD Ship in the Mail Today!
Having been away from the Soaring scene since last Sept, I had to treat my symptoms with a couple new HYPERLINK http://www.F3X.COMF3X.COM Shadows. Documenting the progress as I put her together. Laptop in the Garage using 2.4g wireless router. Will post the build on RCgoups. This in addition to the 2 Pike Perfects I had just finish prior... well make that 2.5 Perfects. My first Perfect died a peculiar death, only the tips and stab are reusueable. Got replacement parts coming. Now as if that was not enough, I have just been exposed to another infectious disease... I think you call it F3F, been doing some reading on it. Pretty contagiously exciting stuff. Oh yeah, life is good. Anyway, hope we cross paths again, I could use a I Beat Gordy button, have a great weekend everyone.
