Re: [RCSE] Muncie

2008-06-26 Thread gjoy
Thanks for all the replys,
BUT, It appears that NO one read my message.
I will be arriving in Muncie day after tomorrow (Our NATs don't start till
August!)and I would like to fly WITH the club at THEIR site. So if any of the
MIST club (I think that is their name) members are out there, I would like a
way to contact them.

This is the first time I've seen the day before soaring, not used by
pattern. I would think that with permission and proper frequencies, anyone
could fly.

2008-06-26 Thread TJB

Actually, this year they might allow it with 2.4 , but haven't in the past.

"Muncie site will be closed to RC flying beginning July 6th through August
10th. Spread Spectrum flying may be done at site 4 and site 8 if not in use
for an official contest. Other areas may be open to RC flying after 5 pm if
scheduled events are finished"

George,
why not directyour query to Jim Cherry, or Ron Morgan and the AMA Staff.
I am sure that they do not monitor this forum.
I know that Jim will put you in touch with the right people,

Be advisded that you might not be able to fly until after hours, if other RC
events are taking place.

Regards
Jack

[RCSE] "Wifi On at the Field, F3J Worlds!"

2008-06-26 Thread GordySoar
Hi guys,
Got a bit more from the field in Turkey.

The JR 2.4 DSM systems are working great providing a whole new piece of mind
todaypretty much the equivalent to Visalia's Friday chaos :-).

On Rich's plane which hit Jim's paw during a launch release and was
'totaled', its back almost ready for combat again!

On the stab that blew off DP's Supra
Super mega tow, hit a thermal, earned its way off.
A stress point at the mount area of the stab for this kind of extreme
launch was identified.

Again guys keep this in the context of where and how it happened, a fix was
identified, JW figured it out prior so his are strengthened for F3J extremes,
and one of those is on loan to DPhas something to do with uranium
enriched helium filled micro balloons or some such...:-)

This is a bit like :

... the kid who when born till age 5 never spoke a word...his parents were
concerned but didn't want to make a big deal out of, then one day they all sat
down to dinner, the kid took a sip of the soup and exclaimed, "Yipes, that's
hot!"
His parents totally shocked said to him,'How come after all these years you
are just talking now?"
His reply," Up until now, every things' been okay."

Fingers crossed in any case planes are going to be used and abused...as I
mentioned before, this is a whole new level of everything than years past.

More later.
Gordy

If you are on 2.4 maybe, but that is the pattern finals day at the Nats.

Muncie guys might have somewhere else to go.

[RCSE] "Update on the F3J World Plane Inventory!"

2008-06-26 Thread GordySoar
Got a note from Ben Clerx, he's got an interesting mix of planes along.

Keep in mind guys that there is practice days, a pre-contest and then the
Worlds...so a lot of flying goes on there...well in between inter-country
soccer
tourneys, BBQ's, Karaoke, some barley pop tasting events, and the usual
:-)so the models that will actually be chosen to fly from the quivers
brought along will be decided considering conditions.

DP's Supra earned its blown stab...That NZ coach (JW) borrowed him a new one.

Ben has these planes along...I brought 3 Aspires a Shadow and a Perfect SL
(borrowed from Larry).
He likes the Shadow if he ends up with some really dead air...so guess that
should make you Shadow owners kind of happy to see that a world class pilot
likes the plane too!

There's a lot of strategy involved here...this IS the big one. So choosing
your best weapons for the battle becomes very important and takes some
consideration.
