Re: [RCSE] charge plug on/off parts
I've heard from a few people that these systems can cause shorts. Could they be wired backwards...I know from audio stuff that it's OK to connect one lead (+ or -, I forget which) before the other. - Original Message - From: Albert Wedworth To: home ; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Com Sent: Tuesday, October 21, 2003 5:00 PM Subject: Re: [RCSE] charge plug on/off parts Hi Just pick them up at Dieter's Place. [RCSE] building CR Renegade composite
I'm going to build a CR Renegade composite. Any recs on the lay-up mix for the wing. This will be my first glass wing project. Advice is always appreciated. Martin RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News. Send "subscribe" and "unsubscribe" requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
[RCSE] repair molded wing?
I lost my servo connection on a RnR moldi and a bad thing happened. The fuse is a dog toy. One of the wings got munched near the root. The shape is still there but it now has undesirable softness to it. Is there a link that demos repairs to this stuff? Thank you Martin RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News. [RCSE] cutting ailerons in composit wing
Ok, I've had marginal success with my first composite over blue foam bagging project. I'll soon need to cut out my ailerons...What is the best method of doing this. I used 2 layers of 1.4 oz glass and a layer of 80/20 carbon. Is there a Dremel bit that will cut and chamfer(the way they did my mplx Lucky)? Thanks guys Martin
[RCSE] wiring two servos via a deans
I've got a deans and want to use a single connector for my two servo wing. Could someone confirm which leads (on Hitec) can be wired in common? Thanks, Martin
[RCSE] caulking for bag, which one?
I am going to make another attempt at bagging a composite wing. I'd like to try using the method a plastic sheet with caulking on 3 sides. Is there a best caulk(or a material to stay away from)? Thanks, Martin
[RCSE] info on glass fuse building
Hi, I am looking for some info on how to build a glass fuse using an existing fuse as a starter. I have one that I like but want to modify and use as a plug. Web sites or other lists would be appreciated. Thank you
[RCSE] installing wingrod info
I am having fun making wings with the foam cutter I made from info you (all) supplied. Thus far, I have only done 1 piece lay-ups. I would like to make some two piece wings as they are easier to transport. I am having trouble find good info on how to create these. Could you point me in the right direction? Thank you Martin
[RCSE] kudos to Jon Stone
I am wrapping up a full house scratch built and much of what you said is very helpful for me (and many others, I'm sure). Good-on-ya Martin
[RCSE] adding flaps to molded wing
I have a Nemesis that I am getting ready to reassemble after destroying the original fuse. I'd like to add flaps to the (hollow molded) wing witch currently is built with ailerons only. I love flying, but dread high speed landings. I just built a wing with flaps for a Renegade and love landing it. Is it feasible to add flaps? Thanks Martin C
Re: [RCSE] adding flaps to molded wing
got this one off-line. Cut the flaps just like you would with a foam core, the wing isn't sacred...its yours. It won't hurt the strength as there is very little force on the trailing edge.Just use tape hinge and don't get nuts about the gap. I was going to use a razor saw and try to end up with a living hinge. I am hoping that there is a layer of Spectra or peel-ply in there to act as the hinge. I used peel-ply on my Renegade wing and it worked great. - Original Message - From: CrashK To: Martin Cleary Sent: Monday, February 25, 2002 7:01 PM Subject: Re: [RCSE] adding flaps to molded wing Hi Martin, Just wondering if you got any response to your question...I've been considering doing the same to my Mini Ellipse. [RCSE] hotbox for bagging, post or concurrent
I read Fred S's post re 3m77-interesting. Regarding the hotbox. I have heard that the heat treatment should be done after the epoxy has cured from one source and another said do the treatment while the epoxy is setting up. Just looking for input. My current method is to just throw an electric blanket over the bag and let it cook for a day or so. If I can find some dead shop space, I may build a box.
Re: [RCSE] Power supply for foam -What do I need?
The Radio Shack unit called for on the Charles River site works quite well and is very inexpensive. Be sure to use a fan speed control and not a light dimmer. - Original Message - From: "C. Re: [RCSE] Power supply for foam -What do I need?
Thanks Ed, The dimmer that I choose did not work. You are right, it boils down to the rating on the controller. My guess is that there is a lower bottom end(rating) on dimmers as opposed to the speed controllers. For the benefit of the readers, do you recall which dimmer your club is using? It seems that the dimmers are at a lower price point. [RCSE] JW building

[RCSE] Source for wire harness mtls
I'm a bit frustrated with the cost of wiring components via the local dealer. I can appreciate the cost involved in a slow moving inventory...but $6 for a 6 inch servo extension... I'd like to make my own wiring harnesses. Is there a good source for bulk connectors and the proper wire? Also, does it require a special crimper or can they be effectively soldered? Thanks Martin btw-I do try to patronize local people for obvious reasons. As self indulgent as this hobby is, I need to make best efforts to control the costs RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News. [RCSE] newer 6 ch hitec w futaba 8u tx
Ive been out of the game for a while...I need a rx for a 6 ch (2 flap) a/c that will work with my Futaba 8u. Will the newer 6 channel work from hitec? It looks like it's made similar to the 555 which has always been a winner. Another way to phrase the question: Do I need a channel 7 to run two flaps with my Futaba 8u? Thanks Martin
