You'll find that the module from a new JR should fit. It is the Module that
is post 1991 (AMA reg, not FCC) standards.

Since it is the TX module that creates the RF Signal, a new module makes
that old box of switches 'viable' and moral today.

The RX' s on the other hand (PCM) are out dated and not safe as they are
before the ABC&W design phase of JR's current designs (its their version
of dual
conversion)...and we switched to 50 new channels and gave up the old 12 that
existed previously. I was slightly involved in that process way back
then...so remember a little about it.

But chances are it doesn't do what need anyway for today's open class
sailplanesso just get a 9303, and have TX that will take care of all
your RC
airplane/heli needs for likely the rest of your soaring life.

Keep in mind that switch components corrode as do the old wires inside from
things like Black Wire syndrome (the insulation had a chemical that caused
the wire to turn black and stop making contact with solder joints and
crimps.

Your time isn't worth it.

Don Richmond at http://www.hilaunch.com/

He made an excellent 10mm floating joiner that I still use.
The one that came with 3.4M Culumus didn't last.

How about Boy / Girl Scouts?
They do try to aquire Merit Badges.
Maybe gain a new RC enthusiast.

When the local club hands out excess magazines, we target young people.

The EasyStar (54 inch) is much smaller than The EasyGlider (71 inch).
Both made by Hitec / Multiplex
EasyGlider does come in a Electric or glider versions only.

EasyGlider http://www.hobby-lobby.com/easyglidersail.htm
EasyGlider Electric http://www.hobby-lobby.com/easyglider.htm
EasyStar http://www.hobby-lobby.com/easystar.htm
Review http://www.rcgroups.com/links/index.php?id=4728

I've witnessed the one in the review.
It handles so well that the local club members now has over a dozen of the
glider versions for aero-tow and same plane design contests.

The Easy is design for thermal duration and is a "floater" because of that.
That is what beginners need.
If you want a glider to penetrate, you will need a higher performance
glider. Either heavier or faster airfoil. Neither is desired for a
"beginner."

Used Batteries America before- no problems

Bought from SR Batteries before and was sent a dead cell and he would not
replace it. I personally would NEVER anything buy from him again. No
matter what his reputation is supposed to be.

What about bashing a GWS LadyBUG, Goldfish?
A clubmember bashed a Slowstick to a twin and that setup on a Ladybug and
a few other mods would stand off for a Flapjack.

Call it a WaffleJack?

Just an idea.
I need sleep now.

Hell, 59 Deg is shorts and t-shirt weather up here this time of year. Of
course todays high is only 20 which is probably shorts and t-shirt weather
for Bill's Club up north.

When I was young boy, we used carry the TX, sailplane, winch and battery
five miles through 4 feet of snow. Uphill. And barefoot!

Question about the two processors.
One for the flight controll?
One with the Windows CE?
If the windows goes down (windows will go down sooner or later), Then your
flight processor looses the other programs and mixes and leaves you
hangin? Crashing?
Better be quick. What do YOU Do? What do YOU Do.

[Fwd: RE: [RCSE] Hobby People has Trition Charger for $109 until Tuesday, save $20]

2004-11-28 Thread eholt
I have 2 Tritons. They work fine for LiPos'.
Just have to set a 2 cell for a 2 cell and a 3 cell for a 3 cell
(Manually) Over 100 LiPo cgarges without problems.
Ed

> I had a Triton. I used it once and destroyed a lithium pack I hadn't
even gotten a chance to use. It will read a charged 2cell pack as a
dead 3cell and charge away. POOF! Get a Peak or Kokam unit instead.
They set up manually, so YOU are in charge of the settings.

Re: [RCSE] What Happened to JR 9303 Radio?

2004-10-11 Thread eholt
If you actually read my post, you would notice that I did not tell how to
give away the donation. I think it's great that Jr or anyone donates.
IT WAS PUBLICIZED ON THIS SOARING EXCHANGE FOR THE 100th PLACE to recieve
the radio. I was asking if it was discussed at the Pilots meeting of the
different way it was going to be awarded. Your way of thinking would be to
change the rules and tell anyone? CVRC changed it, not Jr as you stated.

Speaking of ethics. At your clubs last event, Spring 2004 raffle. The two
drawing tickets were looking at the names and throwing them back in the
tub. Sometimes two or three times. This went on for 5 - 10 minutes until
everyone was yelling about it. Then your club stopped this practice.
Yeah, I WAS THERE AND WITNESSED IT MYSELF. Also I'm sure some of the items
awarded was given to Ed Lockhart until 3/4 of the way into it, someone
noticed that there was another person named Ed there. They called Ed
Lockhart until they noticed a different last name. I never said anything
until now.

Flame yourself Mr. Carbon

It was for JR to determine what they wanted to do to give a prize away. I
you can't always believe what you read, here or otherwise. If there was a
change in JR's
> thinking on how to distribute the donated item, thats their right, not
> yours. And I don't ever recall distribution of donated prizes to be an

Flame on, ye of higher ethics than I.

Did you win, place or show?
Then why be in a hurry about the scores.
Evidently the website is down and I'm sure there is not a paid IT Tech on
staff at CVRC. (read volunteer).
Isn't it mainly about the people and the circus that goes on?

Mike,
Not all of the comments were about the wind. If a business has bad service
and attitude, it will go under. Wonder why there are less clubs in what used
to be the NCSL? Your CD hardnosed? You are hosting an event for your guest,
not people attending OWE you for putting on the event. There are the few
that will make or break an event such as this. I'm sure most members are
great and hard working, but it is those few, good or bad, that those
attending will remember.

He may seem a bit hardnosed at times but he gets the job done. You can
kill a contest with this kind of crap and you can kill a club Northern
California Soaring League a few years ago we had seven clubs
participating--only 4 of those clubs still exist
